Electronics : Sandisk Sansa e280 - 8Gb MP3 & Video Player

This is a decent piece of kit for the money but trust me, the good looks and cool clickwheel wear off after the first month(my experience). As i said it is good, nice ideas such as recorder and radio but you will want another thing later. Its a bit of a fashion item. Take the ipod classic 80 gb that i purchased recently. Really good memory and looks but, with 10 times the memory for double the price its a better buy and you will get people asking "whats that!" when with an Ipod, they know!

I bought my sony mp3 directly from the sony online shop. It came quickly and for a few months It was ace I had no problems. After the few months I noticed the battery life wasnt lasting very long. I bought the 20GB version so as to not be yet another buying the ipod. What a *huge* mistake.

1. Oh so slow at navigating compared to an ipod.
2. You *cannot* see the screen at all in sunlight.
3. Forget buying music from anywhere else - this will not support mp3 formats - just atrac3 - OH!!! - Sony have just announced they're not supporting their own file format anymore.

Please - get an ipod - I have. Bought an 80GB Classic today and did something I should have done 2 years ago.

Total rubbish.

I have been looking for a viable alternative to an iPod for a while as i didn't want to become a sheep and follow the itoilet trend, however before i found this player i was discouraged by other mp3 players with their reported breakages by other users and lack of good looks.

Enter the Sony NWA806FW

ok to start with this is a tiny player, was amazed at how small it was when i took it out of the box. its lighter than your iPod nano and is about the same size as its taller but the iPod is wider. Also its design is very nice, big screen, straight forward buttons, looks very sleek and nothing like the other tacky players on the market.

The display itself is crystal clear and the sound quality left me in awe at its clarity ... Read More:

First MP3 player we have bought, and it promised to be very easy to use. The functions are not easy, the user guide is converted from Japanese or Chinese to English so the grammar does not make any sense whatsoever. You cannot get the functions to operate in a normal manner. We kept losing the playlists, then were unable to play them once we found them.
when it did work, we didn't actually know how we did it because the options on the menu's kept changing.
however, WHEN it did work the sound quality wasn't bad given the price.
All in all, we wanted to throw it at the wall because it just didn't do what it was supposed to.
As much use as a horse fighting a forest fire with a plastic spoon.
If you want an instant headache, this is the ... Read More:

My Ipod Mini is great! It stores loads of songs and is gives good sound quality to the music, the only thing is the Ipod sticks alot and you have to reset it alot. but its really quick to do so it doesn't really bother me.

The only thing now is that their is new-er ones out like the the black and white smaller nannos ipods, but i still prefer these... i think nanos are too small

I had read some bad reviews about this but went for it and am so glad I did. Build quality is good. FM transitter works great.
It is so simple to use. I just:
Created new folders on my desktop, e.g. 'reggae', 'pop' or whatever,
Download my music files,
Drag and drop them into which ever new folder(s) they belong in,
Plug in the MP3 player,
Select 'open folder to view' from the list,
Choose 'music'
Drag and drop whichever tracks you want across to the netac music folder
Unplug it and enjoy! Simple!
