Now on my third Powershot; they just get better and better. Resolution is easily good enough for A4 size prints - if of course your printer is up to it.

My only gripe is that the selection wheel moves too easily - keep an eye on it. Battery life is good but it is worth investing in a spare to keep in the bag. If you are going to take video (and the quality is much better than in previous Powershots where it was a weakness) use a high-capacity SD card.

Electronics : Samsung Digimax i6 Black Digital Camera with PMP, MP3 & 2.4" LCD (6MP, 3 x Optical Zoom)

About a year ago I was in the market to upgrade my digital camera, I spent weeks reading reviews on Amazon and other websites to get the best bang per buck possible. Eventually I settled for the Samsung Digimax i6. When I recieved it I took it to a place called Tryfin in Snowdonia and took some outstanding photo's of the hill's and the lake, I was well impressed and so was everybody who saw the photo's. I paid £120 for it and couldn't believe the quality of the images camera's a little over £100 could deliver. So then a few weeks later I was went on holiday with my Fiancee to sharm el sheik for 10 days of diving and sunbathing, each night I took my camera with me to take some memories and found the flash totally bleached all the night time photo's I had taken ... Bought 2 exilims for my daughters, including this one. Both are expensive considering the poor quality of the photos. Consistently unsharp and grainy. I have a Canon compact and it is so much better. Remember that a high MP does not mean better photos if the lens is not good quality. Twice the price it should be, in my opinion.

I got this in a supermarket for a stupid price and despite my usual caution about equipment made by people you've never heard of, this exceeded my expectations. It's well made, well specified and takes decent photos out of the box.

Mine came with a proper charger and NiMh batteries, as well as a very nice leatherette slip case. It's not as dinky as some, but this is a good thing, as very small cameras are really difficult to hold steady. The batteries are essential, as (in common with most digicams) they get used up pretty quickly. You can turn the LCD off to preserve them between shots, and it has an 'proper' viewfinder too.

The printed manual is very basic and doesn't hint at the scene modes (portrait, landscape, night, action) or macro setting. ... Read More:

After reading a few of these reviews I decided that £45 for Asda this had to be worth a try.

Build quality - Excellent. Light if a little small for bigger hands. The battery door seems a little bit flimsy, but over all when you look at the alternatives at this price nothing compares.

Image quality - I've not really scrutinised the quality yet but the few shots I've taken so far are perfectly exposed and crisp. Its a 6MP camera which is plenty for a compact. I personally think anything more is overkill because small lenses simply won't supply the quality to support that kind of definition.

It's simple to use and the screen is a good size. I'm giving this 5 stars, and anyone who bothers to use bundled free software clearly is being ... Read More:
