(I'm using my mum's account) The amount of times I've dropped this camera is ridiculous yet the camera has stayed together and still takes amazing pictures. The flash is a bit dodgy but pictures (especially ones taken outside) turn out really nicely and don't blur (I know this because me and my friends take pictures of us jumping on the trampoline mid air and it doesn't blur AT ALL!!) I've got this camera wet and sandy and have scraped it loads and it still works a treat. It looks great and takes fabulous pictures to treasure!

I had read many of the negative reviews for the FZ8 but thought the positives out-weighed the negatives. However, when I took the FZ8 along to a wedding, with the "i" setting the camera chose not to use the flash. Consequently most of the pictures had camera shake. I am not happy when using flash as the shutter speed is set at 1/30th second and some shots seem over exposed. With my old Canon AE1 the shutter speed was set at 1/60th - less chance of camera shake.Having borrowed an oldish Fuji S5000, which produced excellent results, I am rather disappointed with the Lumix FZ8.

Got mine as an xmas gift as we were expecting our son at the time. rarely took photo's before but thought we would take loads once the baby was born, which we have. Love it. easy to use. lots of nice easy functions to takes more creative photo's if you fancy.

I had a Caplio R2 many years ago, and when I was to change my FujiFilm i naturally checked out the Ricoh range, which I think outbattles all competitors in small pocket cameras - especcially when it comes to objective zoom. I am very pleased with the performance of this camera. It is a great point-and-shoot camera, but most suited for good lighted conditions. In bad lightning it usually is enough to do a little change to the exposure compensation to maintain good usable pictures. Here the great quick-access-joystick comes in handy. This little camera is fantastic value. The optical zoom is easy to use and extremely good. In general it is a very simple to get to grips with and take great shots. My needs were simple I wanted a camera that I could take good quality pictures yet I could not justify spending a fortune on a true SLR camera. This little fuji ticks all the boxes. You can use it in automatic mode or of course in manual as well as stages in between. It is less bulky than the SLR camera. I thought that I could always get a snap using my phone camera but wanted something that I could take out specifically to take quality shots. Great quality feel about this camera, easy to use, takes great lookin pictures. The video mode really suprised me, took some video on holls in Turkey of the shows we watched in the evening, wasnt expecting the camera to pick up much. But the quality of the playback is excellent through my Lcd tv, considering it was taken in low light, i was very suprised, no need for me buying a seperate video camcorder now. I highly recomend this camera, for this price there giving it away.
