This is a great camera, at a great price, but be aware that you will receive a German manual and a European charging lead. Amazon does not make this clear. Expect to have to pay for an English manual and lead from elsewhere on the net!

I usually use a DSLR Camera (Canon 30D). However I don't always want to lug a relatively bulky camera around all the time. This TZ3 is an ideal camera. With its all metal construction it is small enough to fit in the pocket. Quality of images are excellent and when enlarged up to A5 size, stand comparison with my larger format camera. The lens is superb and its large range of focal lengths make it ideal for the majority of occasions. Not having an eye-level viewfinder took a bit of getting used to (particularly in bright sunlight!) but in my opinion this was a minor disadvantage. All in all, this is an excellent point and shoot camera and is certainly one of the best, regardless of price!

Hi! I wouldn't even rate this camera as its manufacturer, sony is really bad in service/repair. I got this camrea from US as gift from my brother (who is in USA# and in 4 months its Lense CCD image device went bad. All it means that its a camrea which can not take any picture and can only review pictures from memory. I checked with Sony service center at local place, they want to charge 40 pound to send to Sony Repairs + what ever the cost of CCD image replacement. Means it may be something like 80 pounds for repair. I just googled to see how many people are facing same problem, found that in last three months #June 2008 to sept 2008) almost 10 others have same problem with this camera. CCD went defective. I used a Powershot A40 from 2003 until last year which was always superb. I then bought a Lumix FX50 ( £200 ) because it has a Leica lens and was small enough to fit in a pocket. Guess what? It was nowhere near as good quality as the old 2Mp Canon. Just bought this and It's a lot of camera for the money. If I adjust it down to 2Mp it's still comparable to the Lumix!Plus it doesn't suffer mad fits of colour saturation on flash photos like the Lumix did. It may be a little chunky for a pocket, but if you prefer some control over your photos as apposed to "point and shoot" this will take some beating!

I was expecting more from a Sony Cybershot. Pictures blurs a lot, especially in low light and the movies needs a superbright environment to turn out good. My next camera will have Image Stabilizer and Face detection.

Bought this for my daughter's 16th birthday. She thinks it's "Really good". Doesn't come with a protective case, so view screen gets a bit smudgy with fingerprints and pocket lint. Bought this camera for around £100 but I want to upgrade it already, the fact is that even if you use this camera in full manual ... well it isn't a SLR although very clever. I won't sell the camera away tho, my missus will make good use of it as sooo easy to use.
