If you are buying a Sat Nav, then considering a Pocket PC with an inbuilt GPS receiver is a good option, as it allows you to do more than just Sat Nav. Older PDA/Sat Nav devices had receivers that flipped out allowing tweaking the orientation, the latest ones don't - probably because the new receivers are much better. The Yakumo is the new type and the model of receiver built in is the best available. It works well as both a PDA and as a GPS device, however my model had iffy reception - that said Yakumo released a patch on their website, so its easy to fix. I decided to sell mine on because I found that its processor wasn't fast enough - it handled the GPS fine so perfect for SatNav, and if you mainly want SatNav with ... Read More:

It took a lot Internet research to find this little gem but it has paid off as it really does deliver what it claims. It was easy to pair with my Dell Notebook and the whole process took about five minutes. I use it with MS AutoRoute and again there was no problem setting up the GPS tracking features - the accuracy and refresh rate is very impressive. The product box contained no software but if you have MS AutoRoute, or similar, this shouldn't prove a problem. Also included was a handy in-car charger which can charge your PDA at the same time as well (nice touch) and a leather wallet to keep the GPS Receiver in good condition when not required. However, it may be worth investing in a mains charger and, if your car has a solar windscreen, ... Read More:

Basic configuration of the BlueDSL is very simple, plug it into your ADSL enabled phone line, install some software from the CD, and it's all up and running nicely for a large proportion people. Port mapping is fairly easily achieved, which is vital if you wish to use file sharing software. The only strange thing is that there is no way to have a hardcoded IP address when you connect to BlueDSL itself. This isn't quite as much of a problem as it seems, because the BlueDSL somehow(?!) seems to map the port to the correct machine when you reconnect to it.
