This was my first 'L' lens & got me completely hooked on the better image quality. It is light, so sits comfortably on the camera for football matches & can be hand-held comfortably. f/4 means it can't be used indoors but is great for photoing the kid's football or the dogs outside. If money is short, you want quality & don't need the f/2.8 or the IS - then this is the lens for you!

I've had one of these and have been using it for over a year. I wanted something that extended the eyepiece so I didn't have to turn my face sideways to look through the viewfinder. It achieves that aim just fine. Yes it does shrink the image - this may be an issue for some, especially those using cameras with a smaller viewfinder image. I'm using it on a 5D, which has a very large viewfinder image. So large, in fact, that I find it hard to take the whole image in without looking around it. The eyepiece extender helps me to see the whole frame before I shoot so I consider the image shrinking to be a benefit. I understand, though, that many will not. This teleadapter requires the use of the Canon lens adapter LA-DC52D. Once fitted, this lens nearly doubles the zoom power of the camera. It has enabled me to produce some excellent results. My one disappointment with it is that the camera must be used at maxiumum zoom - zoom out and the picture does not fill the screen, a circular image is displayed, but this is easily overcome. The lens can be removed from the camera in a couple of seconds. If this is a problem for you, you should buy a bigger camera with a longer range zoom, if you can accept this, it allows you to extend the range of a good compact camera.

I wanted a cheap/cheerful scanner for occasional copying of documents and this little scanner seemed perfect. Delivery was prompt and installation was easy. As with most USB devices it was important to install driver and other software before plugging in using the supplied USB cable. Unfortunately, the only result I achieved in several hours were error messages telling me that no scanner was connected. This involved restarting the PC, uninstalling/reinstalling, unplugging and plugging in the scanner, downloading/installing updated drivers from the Canon website. Sorry Amazon, I shall shortly be obtaining a returns ticket and returning this non-functional item.

I'm currently using this with my EOS 350D, replacing a Canon 28-105 f3.5/4.5 USM zoom. That lens was itself a worthwhile improvement to the kit lens, but this is on a different plane altogether. Particular highlights include: * Low light performance - IS really works, coupled with f/2.8 max aperture it's outstanding. * Sharp pictures! Details are just beautiful, my 350D's 'only' 8 Mpixels are definitely the limiting factor now. The absence of any noticeable chromatic aberration makes a big difference too. * Fast and (most importantly) accurate AF. Noticeably better than the 28-105, and a world away from non-USM lenses. I find I'm not missing the extra telephoto range of the 28-105, and that 55mm is adequate. ... Read More:
