I'm really impressed with this scanner but, as a Mac user, was extremely disappointed by the software Canon supply with it - some seriously old editions of ArcSoft PhotoStudio and OmniPage SE, both of which are PowerPC editions. They are so old that the suppliers won't offer any support; upgrading to newer versions costs over £110. I got rid of my old HP scanner because their software support was so poor and now find myself in the same situation with Canon. It's a real shame, but this cheapens the product - beautifully made, but with ancient software.

I ordered this printer together with a pack of KP-108P (which arrived a day before the printer). Although I have only just received the printer, I am very pleased with it in general. I found things very easy to follow using the handbook supplied and have printed the full version handbook from the supplied disc. Paper loading is straightforward and easy, not at all 'clunky' as others have found. I used the paper and cartridge supplied to print from my SD card which was too easy for words. I needed to buy an extra USB cable in order to print directly from my PC, again, this operation was simple and easy, athough I was thrown off course until I realised that the inbuilt visual display will only show a diagram depicting the connected printer and PC. I bought this camera from Amazon in October 2008, which came with a free case that made the whole package very good value. I am no photo professional, so this camera is perfect for a layperson like myself who just wants to point and shoot! Delivers nice pictures; actually 10 megapixel gives lots of unwanted (!) details on your skin, too.. I am glad I didn't go for the 12 megapixel option, which would be too much for the leisure user (each photo becomes too large in size too, using up your SD card space quickly). Overall, this is an impressively small camera that does everthing it's supposed to do quite nicely. The functionalities are straightforward and easy to use as well.

I just recieved mine today and first impressions is that it is an attractive camera. The pictures are clear. But the camera itself is quite difficult to use as theres so many functions. Not having a black and white setting is a bit of a let down but you can easily download picasa 2 on google n edit your images on there. Its small enough to fit in your pocket or bag and is great for taking pictures with your friends. i suggest buying a 2GB memory card for it as they are so cheap now.

Its a really good buy and an excellent value for money, when i told everyone how cheap it wsa they were astonished. My dad bought a camera that was atleast twice as expensive and the only difference is that his is a bit thinner.

If your like me and just looking ... Read More:

This printer is very nice. A very good scanning and copying function, with a very thorough set-up process. The printer is very quick and efficient with good ease of use with just the press of a button. The printer also has a fax function but I have never bothered to set that up. The only problem I do have with it though is that it uses quite a bit of ink, and the ink isn't cheap. For the price it is at now is very reasonable; it is of very good build, and looks expensive. The unit itself though is quite large and takes up a bit of room. It does also need a USB cable but they are a few pounds also on amazon!

I use a DSLR (20D and 40D) for 'serious' photographic opportunities (foreign travel, shows etc) but for just about everything else I use a compact for the portability. I want manual control of my camera so I've been using a Canon S80 for the last 3 years and to good effect but when the G10 was announced I became interested, primarily after seeing the sample images that Canon provided but also because it has a 28mm lens and I use wide angle more then telephoto. That's why the S80 was with me for so long: the 28mm lens!
So, my G10 arrived a few days ago and to be honest, despite the hype, I didn't expect to be that impressed. I thought it would be an S80 in a bigger case and with slightly higher resolution (and that's if Canon could pull it off: 14.7 megapixels on a ... Read More:

If your going to be taking alot of night time long shutter speed shots or want to use the bulb setting on the camera, if you have any problems with camera shake while on tripods or if you want to take portrait shots where your not looking into the eye piece the whole time, well then get this.

If you just want to try out taking night time photos then I would just say use the timer on the camera. If you then decide that you like night shots and want to take more than get it.

It is a very handy little piece of equipment but if you do get it just don't let it sit in the bottom of your bag. The cord wraps up very neatly around itself and the bit that sticks in the camera can be put into the bottom (you can see the little hole on the picture) so it doesn't ... Read More:
