Purchased a 310t November 2006,after trying both a Garmin & a Tom Tom previously. Used it on 3 occasions, twice to London & once touring Germany in December 2007. That trip was the death knell for the machine as it siezed up and died next tine we came to use it Jan 2008. Contacted Garmin UK customer service (The name customer & service do not seem to sit well together with Garmin)to be told it would cost OVER ONE HUNDRED POUNDS to look at a 15 month old machine.This sat nav is about as good as the football team they sponser, very average trying to be better than they are.The machine worked well when abroad except it did not reconise Belgium ??

The Navman Pin 570 has been quite unreliable for most journeys and have had to reset the device on mnay occasions. The device contains a GPS receiver which has difficulty obtaining a signal and is limited by the internal GPS chipset. Apart from MP3's and using it as a normal PDA it's fine, but dont rely on the battery as it's very short lived. Overall the device has been over priced, as I paid £270 back in the day when it first came out. You are best obtaining a dedicated GPS device like Tomtom as this is definetly not the device for regular drivers.

I got this product after reading numerous reviews..tomtom vs garmin etc and went for this one as an impromptu upgrade from the more basic c520. I was interested in the text to voice function and that swung it for me. I tried both c520 and c550 and they are similar in design etc but the c550 has more functionality with the bluetooth (which i havent used and wont do until i get a bluetooth phone) and the mp3 playback etc. This model also has full mapping (inc europe) and not the regional mapping. I test drove it from south to north wales and found it worked really well. I notice that it alerts to many of the safety cameras that arent there (cyclops upgrade pending as i havent got it to work yet) and that the unit didnt get the speed ... Read More:

I bought this Sat Nav becuase of the amount of time I spend in the USA for work and I have got to say it is an excellent user friendly sat nav. The directions are easy to follow and the screen is large enough for good map details, yet the Sat Nav is still small enough to fit in your jacket pocket. One the features I like in this Sat Nav is its hands free calling bluetooth feature, which is very user friendly and definitely more comfortable to use then a bluetooth ear piece. I have even found the Mp3 to be of reasonable sound quality and works well with an FM transmitter. Like most new Sat Nav's the maps were already out of date when the product arrived but I found it is easy to update the software. overall I would highly recommend this Sat Nav. ... Read More:

well I bought one as we were taking our caravan to Scotland touring for a month, I bought it on the saturday as we were off on the Sunday morning, I set it for a campsite in Jedburgh and it took us right to the site entrance, warned me of several speed cams which were well hidden in tree cover (naughty speed cam) well I was towing my caravan lol then took me up to Edinburgh once again right to the site entrance, to cut a long story short it took me to the next site but commanded me to turn left into a tiny mudtrack lane (oops) when the site was actually on the opposite side of the road, fortunately i was going to fast to follow the instruction,we approached the entrance after going further down the road and doing the famous U Turn,So far so good finally we decided ...
