Good - it's about £100 cheaper than anything else I could find that allowed me to easily convert old videos to mp4, record TV in a PSP friendly format, and generally replace my old video recorder with a digital equivalent. It's also very small, easy to set up and allows instant recording as well as scheduled recording. Finally, it accepts many different memory cards and even acts as a memory card reader.

Bad - the remote takes a lot of getting used to. The buttons are clunky and it requires very careful aiming at the main box to work. The sound is also often very poor on the recordings. It's difficult to describe but there is often a faint whining noise in the background.

Ugly - I was hoping for better quality video. ... Read More:

this pen drive is fine for everyday use. it has 4GB of storage space. more than plenty. the design of the flash drive is ok, if you don't mind having to push a button on the side to get the actual part you put into the USB port to come out.

it looks nice, quite small. feels good, no sharp edges. quite difficult to break.

i've actually got two of these flash drives. for £8, you can't realy go wrong. that's who much i paid for it anyway, including P&P

Sandisk flash cards have proved to be pretty reliable, they just do the job without making a fuss. This one is good value, but if you tend to shoot long bursts of photos, consider a faster card like the ultra II or extreme III versions.

I found this card to work with the Boss BR600 digital multitracker - most modern cards do not (too fast or too big).

I buy the 'Pro' cards for peace of mind. The lifetime warranty and the speed (when shooting sports for example) are important to me.

The cards work fine in everything I have - Apple Powerbook (via an adapter), Canon cameras - 1DmkII, 10D, 300D, IXUS 500, but not in my EPSON P-2000. EPSON say they know about this, but there's no fix at this time.

40.4GB USB 2.0 Slimline Hyperdrive Standard 256bit AES Hardware Encrypted. From Hypertec from: Hypertec

Electronics : 4GB USB 2.0 Slimline Hyperdrive Standard 256bit AES Hardware Encrypted. From Hypertec

The Hypertec drive is about half the price of most other hardware encrypting drives, and there is not much in the way of supporting design documentation for it to verify the security features. However it works well and is simple to use.

The password length is limited to 16 characters which is annoying, as many prefer to use long pass phrases to get full benefit of the AES key length, however this is more of a techie security complaint than an issue for ordinary users.

If you need higher confidence I suggest one of the FIPS140-2 devices such as the IronKey or DataTraveller Black Box, both of which are over twice the price for the same capacity. For home/personal use the Hypertec is a reasonable alternative and much more secure ... Read More:
