Just bought the Canon G9 and needed a flash which was somewhat stronger then the on-camera strobe. I bought this and was so surprised how easy it was to set -up - just put it on the camera and fire away. Ok I need to try the other settings but exposure was spot on direct and bounced. A gripe - well I prefer off camera flash and you have to buy a canon lead (or close) to do that and whilst the flash can be used wireless thats another £100 or so pounds to add, whilst with a Nikon D300 you can activate a wireless flash (SB-800) easily at no extra cost. All in all great, but I can see me buying some more accessories to get the most from the flash.

I have tried the cheaper adhesive sheets that can be cut to size, but they don't always stick smoothly, making it difficult to read the screen and once a corner gets caught and pulled off they never seem to be as effective again. Generally they only seem to last a few days. So I decided to buy this more expensive cover and it is a good deal better. It clips onto the LCD screen quite firmly, is very clear and can be removed and cleaned should it get grubby. Although it makes the body of the camera a couple of millimetres thicker when attached this is only a problem when using an old camera bag originally designed to house my older 35mm cameras, which are smaller than most digital SLRs.
