I have owned one of these for a month now and it is amazing. Its construction (made in Japan) is sturdy and wonderful to behold. It is quite big (as one would expect), fitting in the fist, and makes the camera nose heavy but it does exactly what it says on the box: magnifies the image by a factor of 1.7, making it possible to get even closer to your objects of photography. I have not noticed any problems with colour or any other distortions, and I've been quite careful to compare images with and without the lens. The box comes with caps for both ends of the lens and a lovely pouch. You need your lens convertor (comes with the Cybershot) as this attaches the lens to the camera. This is a good solid lens, capable of great fast action shots I use mine at air displays and get nice tight shots of the aircraft. But it is also great for more artistic shots such as close up nature work. The image quality I get through my camera with this lens is amazing vivid colors and great detail. The only down side to the lens I have found is that sometimes the auto-focus can seam a bit slow but switch to manual and the focusing ring works really well for fast or subtle focus changes. Overall this is a great lens.
