I received this camera for Christmas. I was a little anxious when I saw the box of instructions but then realised that only half were in English and I could dispose of the rest. I have never had a digital camera before but the instructions were easy to follow, the camera was easy to operate and produced great pictures with very little effort from me. I would definately recommend it.

Great camera! Doesn't have image stabaliser on it (no IS in the name) but to be honest unless your really into your pics, I don't think it makes a major difference, 3" LCD screen is a great feature. Bought it as a gift and was about to buy one for myself when Amazon dropped the price of a better version. Or I would definitly own this camera myself. Only problem is that it comes from outside the UK and so the battery charger needs an adapter, and lets be honest would you actually call that a problem??? Make sure you get a 2GB SD card as the 32MB that Canon supply is far too small.

Now on my third Powershot; they just get better and better. Resolution is easily good enough for A4 size prints - if of course your printer is up to it. My only gripe is that the selection wheel moves too easily - keep an eye on it. Battery life is good but it is worth investing in a spare to keep in the bag. If you are going to take video (and the quality is much better than in previous Powershots where it was a weakness) use a high-capacity SD card.

I reccomended this camera to my mum, after my sister got back from Berlin. She was using this Canon Ixus 700, and the results from her snappings of the Reichstag and many other things, were stunning. And these were displayed on our 28" TV. 7 megapixels to me, are about all you need for a camera, for the family anyway. I feel so silly now knowing our previous camera was an obsolete 2 megapixel Olympus. These days, mobile phones have better camera's! But the 6-7 megapixel range is probably the best, for value at least. With ability to zoom into pics and still retain quality, you know your going to get a perfect picture everytime. And for a few pence a Tescos, who cant? The package is small but suprisingly well arranged, with the usual things such ... Read More:

It cost £225 new and so I expected rather a lot from it - and a lot I got! 4mp now seems like rather a small amount of megapixels to have, but 3 years ago, and even up to a year ago, it was rather decent, the norm really. And those 4mp served me well! That camera saw me through most of University, and as you can imagine, it was used a lot! It captured everything from night-time clubbing shots to daytime beach scenes, and it served all purposes beautifully.
