I am an owner of a Canon 65, have handled a Canon 50 and an Ixus I. I needed a new camera and thought the Canon 75 would have to be a bit better than the superb Canon 65. How wrong I was. The build quality is more plastic. The power saving facilities do not allow you to start the camera in review mode. The sharpness gives the impression of a 4 MP camera, not a 7.1 MP as described. The 3" LCD screen is far more easily marked than that on the Canon 65. On the plus side though, the mode handling has improved and the price at around £130 is cheap. Don't expect a good Canon, expect a cheap one

Bought this camera with a little trepidation, as have always been a Nikon user, Was bought as a point and shoot to compliment my SLR outfit. The main reason I chose this one was it reviewed well and was said to be very good on battery consumption, well the better marked reiews werent wrong. Battery life is the best I have heard of. I am still only on my second set and believe me I do use this camera, have taken in the region of 400 images in the 3 months since I bought it. The preset scene settings are more than adequate if a little hard to get used to so I find myself shooting in either Auto or Manual modes most times. One minor issue is that the camera seems to overexpose by about 0.5 stop in manual mode, no problem though once you ... Read More:

Ive never actually owned a digital camera before i bought this one. Within 30 minutes of owning it i was taking photos. Ive had this camera for well over a year now (maybe about 20 months). Its still doing what i bought it for. Ive took some nice pics with this and experimented with its macro, black and white pictures etc. Ive took it on holiday captured sunsets, sunrises it goes everywhere with me. It goes to the shop at times even. Ive took it to gigs and took some good pictures. Ive used this almost everyday. I love this camera its served me well and although im thinking of upgrading im still going to keep this gem. The battery life is excellent also. Its well worth the money.

I've had mine for a few months now and really enjoy it. This is my 7th digital camera. I sold a Canon SLR and got this one as I couldn't get on with the large size but still wanted something that felt substantial. As it uses AA's it gives it the extra weight I want. The zoom isn't as high as my SLR but the macro setting is better and I take more of the close-ups. I like the flash level can be adjusted which wasn't available on a Panasonic I had and greatly needed. The sepia setting on this camera is a particularly lovely colour.....easy to use and has a big "grippy" part to help steady it although it DOES have image stabilization anyway. I usually take pictures using the vivid colour setting as it's much more effective. Don't notice a huge difference ... Read More:

Not sure what's going on here to be honest. I've had two of these and both have exhibited a very similar characteristic when using the flash indoors. Taking indoor pictures using the flash shows evidence of the same darkish static uneven banding on pictures which is more apparent on uniformly coloured backgrounds. The illumination using the flash unit is therefore somewhat uneven. Strange thing is that both cameras have been from vastly different production batches (as shown by the serial numbers) so I'm not sure if there is something wrong with the flash units Canon are using or whether it's something else ?
