Does eactly what it says . Great camera for the serious amateur who doesn't want to upgrade to a full DSLR at present. Easy to use, compact enough to carry easily, plenty of features to use if you want complete control or a simple point and shoot if thats all thats needed. Easy to hold, a well thought out design.

i bought this camera from Amazon on November last year. It works quite well but I am not totally pleased with 230£ I had paid for as you cant zoom when you record a video. with 12mp and some other stuffs but I can see this camera is not much better than the others which less pixel and less money. Anyhow, so far so good, the len works properly unlike other reviews

A great camera for £88, but this entry level W series camera does not have Sony's Super Steady Shot image stabilisation that you get in all the other W series cameras as you go up the range. If you go up to the W170 you get Intellegent Scene Recognition as well. The W110 is a good camera and certainly worth buying above the S series which have plastic body and only 3x zoom. The W110 has aluminium body and 4x zoom.

My sister-in-law had one when she visited in the summer. It was easy to use and download simple. Then a good friend who is a keen photographer said what a neat, high resolution product it was and I was sold. Bought one. We love using it.

I bought a Vivicam 6200W to go snorkling in the Galapagos Islands. It worked well, giving very acceptable results, both in still and video mode. On this basis it was good value for money. It is however difficult to see the sceen underwater, although the wide angle makes point & shoot quite successful.The problems started when I returned home and tried to load the pictures on to my PC, which uses Widows XP. When installing the driver from the CD, the computer crashed, leaving me with a blue screen that could not be cleared. The computer was eventually restated, with some difficulty, by a computer engineer, but immediately crashed again when restarting the computer after the driver was installed. Bought this camera to use in school with 6 year olds. It is so easy to use and the photos are excellent. There is even a setting which rectifies shaky hands so now the children can photograph their own work with great results. All in all a great buy.

I am not a photographic expert, but a novice who has been eager to upgrade from compact cams to a DSLR for a long time. Consequently I did a lot of research prior to investing in my D40 recently, and I am very happy with my decision. Sure, if you are willing to spend considerably more money you will get a better camera, but it is foolish to think that you would also automatically get better pictures! If you can do without certain 'bells & whistles', like liveview or bracketing for instance, then this camera gives you all you need to take great photos. Also don't assume that an 8 or 10 megapixel camera is 'better' - 6 is more than enough unless you want to enlarge your photos to poster size, or you want to crop your pictures heavily ... Read More:

Bought this after losing my Canon Ixus50 (5Mega-pixel). The camera is robust and has plenty of useful features - however the intelligent mode select and anti-shake are not great. I did get better results from my Canon. However at the price its good value. Takes SD cards which are cheap and easy to plug into most laptops and the battery lasts well. Prefer the Canons picture taking ability but a good cheap digital camera.
