This camera is amazing. I've owned 2 other ones in this line (and managed to lose one and destroy the other) and this one is a big improvement over the F50 I had before. The pictures it takes are amazing and the auto mode is excellent. I just wish it took MPEG4 videos. If it did that I'd ask Amazon for a 6th star.

Bought this camera to use in school with 6 year olds. It is so easy to use and the photos are excellent. There is even a setting which rectifies shaky hands so now the children can photograph their own work with great results. All in all a great buy.

I bought the camera mainly because of its waterproof feature as I was going to be doing a lot of snorkeling on holiday. I took some amazing underwater photos and was truly impressed until day 12 of the holiday when it stopped working. An error message reported that the card slot cover wasn't closed properly, when it was most definitely was. After a few hours of this it completely died which was really annoying. I did a bit of research when we got home and it appears that a few of the Olympus models have this problem - something to do with the cover sensors. Knowing this I opted for a refund rather than a replacement - which is another good reason to buy from Amazon :)

I found this camera to take poor quality photos. The photos were very dark and when taken with the flash far to bright- sometimes the flash would not work at all. After taking a photo the camera freezes up for 5+ seconds which is very frustrating. The camera is generally difficult to use. I do realise that the price is very low so I was not expecting anything spectacular, but this camera was terrible and needless to say I sent it back for a refund.

I own a Nikon D70x and a D200 along with the usual collection of zoom, wide angle and macro lens. I needed something which would produce good quality images but that I could carry in my pocket. I bought the S600 on the day of it's release and found it to be very good indeed. The lens is superb and once you find your way around the menus and use the correct set up the photos are very good. I am very pleased with the camera it does what it says on the packet.

Build Quality is excellent: metal body, firm tactile buttons, no creaks in the casing and battery compartment is extremely secure. Looks: Bearing the Sony Cyber-Shot name across the front against the brushed allumium is absolutely stunning with the dark metallic trim matching the body of the lens. Battery life: It is quite good I haven't experienced it dying out in the middle of a day trip or occasion where lots of snaps get taken. Images: Are as good as you can get in a Point and Shoot of this size. Extremely sharp n clear in daylight & darkness and the 4x optical zoom is great.
