I am pleased with the camera itself but didn't appreciate that delivery was from the Netherlands. As such, the instructions, which appear comprehensive, come in 4 languages but none of them are English. In addition, the battery charger power lead comes with a european pin plug. A UK plug was enclosed but you either need to change the plug yourself or use an adaptor. None of this was apparent when I ordered the camera and whilst not a serious problem, it was certainly frustrating.

Bought this camera for a present for my girlfriend - she used it for one night took 6 photos and put it in her bag, next day the display screen was not working and the zoom lever on top of camera had folded. It had been in a bag and only subject to reasonable pressure! CASIO REFUSED TO FIX OR REFUND IT. I looked at the switch when we got it back and you can bend it with ease it is so flimsy. I was reluctant to buy a casio originally due to concerns on build quality - my fears have been confirmed, this is the worlds 1st disposable digital camera!

And a great value kit. As a child I always used throw offs from my parents. Old canon or pentax 35mm basic things. Then I got a Nikon EM. Other than easier use of flash, I am well aware that an EM was not fit to sit next to something like... oh, an F2A. But the EM was great for me and I took many good pictures with it. I still have the EM and it still works. Since those days, my EM rarely sees the light of day as I am much older and I like the convienience of the digital age. I went digital first with compacts that I could carry anywhere. Fuji's FinePix4700 was my first digital camera. When my daughter splashed out on a superb Canon G9 Canon PowerShot G9 Digital Camera - Black (12.1MP, 6x Optical Zoom) 3.0" LCD earlier this year, I decided it was time to replace my trusty Canon Ixus v with something a bit more sophisticated. Not wishing to pay G9 or SLR prices, and disliking the trend away from proper viewfinders on many recent ultra-compact models, I reckoned this is a perfect compromise between price, size and convenience. Previous to buying this camera I had a Fujifilm F700. This was easily the best camera I have ever had and when it stopped working after over 3 years hard service I naturally thought about another Fujifilm camera. As soon as I reviewed my photos on screen I was very dissapointed, especially as I don't want to clog up my house with yet more paper prints. I want to put photos on Google Earth so clear sharp shots are a must. My experience is that this camera produces screen shots which are of extremely poor quality - not fit for purpose at all. Out of curiousity I printed an image and every thing was sharp and bright, quite the opposite to what you see on screen. This camera is great for the price and does all that you need for snap shots of days out and the like. What lets it down is the amazingly tedious software that you have to use with it. It is annoying and should be unnecessary however you must use it to transfer the pictures off the camera. It would be much better if you could just access it as regular USB removable storage. If you think you can tolerate the appalling software then I'd recommend this camera. Sadly it sucks too much to give it the full five stars.

Bought this as a handbag camera - have the Nikon D60 for serious stuff ( which is also excellent incidentally!!) Great little camera, superb shots, fantastic price and is a WHICH camera of the year - so can't be bad!!

I bought this camera to replace my very trusted S9600 which I managed to accidently fry last week. I still plan to have it repaired by Fuji, so at this point in time, I don't know which will become my first choice camera. This is a sturdy feeling camera - some posts have said heavy - but I disagree. I like a camera to feel businesslike, and this one does. It's small - I'm a woman with small hands, and even my fingers tend to feel a little cramped on the body. And putting the lens cap on invariably means you put a big thumbprint over the viewing screen - annoying, but it's new, so maybe I just haven't got the hang of it yet. I paid Amazon £119.99 for this camera, with a Lowepro Ridge 20 case [worth £8.99] added "free" [it fits in ok] The 24 mm wide-angle lens is great - less distortion than expected and barely noticable vignetting in blue-sky pics. The organic LED screen is much brighter than a normal screen and the 2-year Samsung warranty is reassuring. Even though I've used fully-manual SLR's in the past, I've never attempted anything except "Auto" with a digital camera until this easy-to-use "Smart-Touch" interface.
