I haven't come across a perfect Sat Nav yet but the Nuvi 200W gets as close as is feasibly possible for a cheap basic machine. 100% better than the Navman S30 I bought earlier and immediately regretted. The wide screen and generously sized keypad makes entering addresses a piece of cake. The intuitive software also makes this task very easy once you are familiar with it. This only takes a couple of goes so you are flying in no time. The mapping and route calculation is top notch and it re-calculates in an instant if you go wrong. The screen is clear and bright and a pleasure to use. I suppose my only niggles - otherwise it would have been five stars - is the lack of a £3 USB cable supplied in the ... Read More:

Extremely pleased with this purchase. Although I haven't tried every feature yet - printing and copying give excellent results - with decent speed. I like the interface to the features and the facility to feed paper from either a cassette or the rear of machine. As other reviewers have stated, it takes about 45mins to 1hr to set-up ready for use, but the instructions and software install are easy to follow. My only gripe and the reason I didn't give 5 stars (would like to give 4 and a half, but that's not possible) is no USB cable is provided to connect to the PC ? Volvo S60, no option to change stereo, no aux in, no cassette so no cassette adaptor... it had to be an FM transmitter. The first 'cheapo' one I had was fine - proving that they can work in my car - but died. When it came to replacing it I chose this one on the basis of features-for-the-money. I did extensive reading on-line in an effort to choose a 'works for definite' one... found that they all have good and bad reviews and I suspect that it's more to do with 'works fine in this or that vehicle' than the products themselves. As well as playing music (well) through my car stereo (and loud enough - a challenge for UK iPods with cheapo transmitters)... it has the added bonus of the RDS transmission so I can see who is singing what displayed on ... When playing Divx files, if there's significant movement on the screen, the video starts to jerk (badly!) and the audio starts to crack and drop out. I have verified this with a number of high-quality, high-speed USB flash drives and USB hard drives. I can only speculate that Philips must have skimped on the decoder to keep the price down! Buying this player is a recipe for many ruined nights in, hoping to watch a film and being sorely disappointed part-way through when it starts to jerk and crack! Avoid at all costs!

Until recently I had been using an 8GB Sansa E200 from Sandisk and had been very happy with that, minor software problems aside. I was tempted across to the Creative ZEN 32GB player due mostly to the sheer size of the memory and also through the ability to add storage in SDHC format and also the built-in FM radio...and have been extremely happy with it. It is extremely simple and intuitive to use for both the menu and also the ability to work well with Windows Media Player (which the Sandisk never quite behaved with). It looks very good and has an excellent screen quality. The sound quality is very, very good and shows no distortion at all when cranked right up or when any of the custom equalizer settings are set up to max 12. I did have a bit of an issue ... I bought the TomTom a week ago and used it immediately for 1000 miles or so to Brittany. Everything worked perfectly 'straight from the box'. If we did take a wrong turning, it was quickly picked up and we were re-routed. The only time it became rather confused was at a new shopping mall in France where there were no roads marked. We were impressed with the routing to hotels, which often involved complicated one-way streets. We were a little surprised that not all of the 'safety' cameras in the variable speed limit section of the M25 near Heathrow, were marked.
