Electronics : Fuji 512 MB CompactFlash Card x20 speed

Just purchased a digital camera and required a larger memory card than the 8Mb supplied. As I was looking for max resolution, a lot of memory was required - 256Mb does the trick. Works fine in my camera and PC card reader - no problems whatsoever. I always use Fuji, for Smartmedia as well in the studio - never had any incompatability problems. Can highly recmommend this.

Nowadays a USB flash memory drive is an essential to anyone who uses a computer. In recent months the price of these drives has fallen and the speed risen. Bigger drives tend to be better value in terms with how many pounds a GB costs. If you consider just that then at the time of writing this drive is poor value. However in all reality how many people really need to carry 8 or even 4GB of files about with them? I use computers a lot both in my home and work life, and I know I never need even 2GB. The reason I would recommend a 2GB drive is for use for the ReadyBoost feature of Windows Vista. The standard amount of RAM for a Vista PC would be 2GB, and with that amount of RAM a 2GB flash drive is optimal for ReadyBoost use.

I wanted a high capacity, quality built, low-priced USB flash memory key, and this fits the bill. The price is good for 4GB, and Sandisk have a good reputation for quality (I have many of their SD cards). I like the small size and sliding USB connection, so you don't need a cap. It seems a little flimsy in construction, but then most memory keys seem to be. I was quite happy to accept that it had U3 applications pre-installed although I didn't need/want these. I knew that I could uninstall U3 and turn it back into a simple, high-capacity memory device. However, it failed to work on both my home PCs (both running XP) - they locked up requiring a reboot. I managed to get it working on my work PC (again XP), and used the inbuilt utility to remove ... Read More:

I have 2 of these cards - both have given trouble free service for about a year. I also have a Jessops Max High speed (100x) 512MB card. The Kingston beats this hands down on downloading speeds from camera or card slot - my guess is that it is nearly twice as fast as the Jessops card.

I'm not really too 'up' with computers but I have found this little gadget easy to use and one thing that I really like about it is that it is password secured. I am now able to do things for work at home, load them on to this and transfer to the PC at work. Magic!
