I've had mine about a year now.

First up, it doesn't look like the picture. There are three interchangeable sleeves, but the back is a fixed white plastic cap with a loop for attaching keys, etc. That lasted around three months on my keyring.

The sleeves do slip around on the stick (So you'll need to push the stick from the end to plug it in, otherwise the sleeve just slides uselessly along the body). The result is that they get slack with time, so keep the colours you don't like - I'm currently on the hot pink, having gone through the white and the blue - or get used to the bare metal and forget about the sleeves.

Give up on the endcap. You *will* lose it, so just toss it now and save yourself the worry. ... Read More:

this pen drive is fine for everyday use. it has 4GB of storage space. more than plenty. the design of the flash drive is ok, if you don't mind having to push a button on the side to get the actual part you put into the USB port to come out.

it looks nice, quite small. feels good, no sharp edges. quite difficult to break.

i've actually got two of these flash drives. for £8, you can't realy go wrong. that's who much i paid for it anyway, including P&P

SPEED:
It is very quick - nearly as quick at opening and closing files as a hard drive. 3.5GB took me about 8 minutes.

CASING:
The rubberised casing is pretty large but provides a great robustness to the product. However, the size does cause problems if your USB slots are close together. Patriot have, however, thought of this and supplied a short extension cable in the package.

SOFTWARE:
Thankfully it is unencumbered by software that you need to install on your PC. Simply plug it in and away you go. No setup required.

VERDICT:
A fantastic product. The only issue you may have with it is the actual size of it due to the rubber. Other than that I can't fault it.

38.4GB USB 2.0 Slimline Hyperdrive Standard 256bit AES Hardware Encrypted. From Hypertec from: Hypertec

Electronics : 4GB USB 2.0 Slimline Hyperdrive Standard 256bit AES Hardware Encrypted. From Hypertec

The Hypertec drive is about half the price of most other hardware encrypting drives, and there is not much in the way of supporting design documentation for it to verify the security features. However it works well and is simple to use.

The password length is limited to 16 characters which is annoying, as many prefer to use long pass phrases to get full benefit of the AES key length, however this is more of a techie security complaint than an issue for ordinary users.

If you need higher confidence I suggest one of the FIPS140-2 devices such as the IronKey or DataTraveller Black Box, both of which are over twice the price for the same capacity. For home/personal use the Hypertec is a reasonable alternative and much more secure ... Read More:

Don't worry about your data - if you lose this memory stick your files and photos are safe!

Firstly, the device itself is a sturdy thing, not like the cheap/free USB devices you normally have lying around the office or home. The IronKey is made of metal so you won't be accidentally breaking this little beauty. And having said that, it is a nice device to look at and it feels nice to hold. It's solid.

The important feature with this device is that all your data is secure. Whatever you put on it will be securely encrypted by the device itself. Only you and your password can unlock the device and view the files. If you lose the Ironkey, and it's found, the data remains encrypted and safe. If someone then tries to unlock it ... Read More:
