I was after a cycle computer that was easy to setup and didnt have wires trailing over the bike or a magnet attached to the wheel. GPS was therefore the way to go so having looked around I went for this unit. I didnt go for the more expensive Edge units as they had extra functionality I wasnt interested in. I also already own a Garmin in-car sat-nav so knew the product should be good. The system is easy to setup and you do have to update the software in the unit itself as well as the Garmin training centre that you load onto your PC/laptop. You create a user and bike profile so the computer knows the combined weight of you and your bike, this is so it can show you how many calories you are burning as you cycle. Initially the unit will take a ... Read More:

I agree with many of the pros and cons detailed by other people. However I think this is a very good machine indeed! Having used TomTom for 4 years I am bored with it (like a Nokia Phone I suppose), I was looking for a change so I decided on a Sony, for £100 it gives you map up to Paris (that's exactly what I wanted, I just need a sat nav that can take me to Calais! Buying a whole Western Europe map would be a waste of money for me as I would never think of driving that far anyway), wide screen, day/night auto screen adjustment. What more do you expect? A TomTom One couldn't give you those!

The machine catches signal within seconds if you switch on at the same place as you switch off previously. Otherwise it may take a minute or so to find a signal.

I bought the new 2210 direct from Navigon as there are a few stock issues with it, also bought it without reading a proper review, but hey someone's got to be first!

A compact box houses the sat-nav, charge lead (incorporating the traffic aerial), USB cable and suction mounts and cradle. A case would have been appreciated as its bound to get scratched. I previously had a Garmin Nuvi 350 and the GTM12 traffic receiver and really wanted something equal or better to that so it had to have TTS, Europe maps and have traffic. The 2210 has all of these and is much faster calculating and drawing the routes which is what you'd expect from a newer satnav. The unit itself is very compact and sleek and is not much bigger than the screen.

I was a bit worried about ... Read More:

Speed cameras are a touchy subject. Although many car enthusiasts - myself included - see them as the spawn of Satan, anyone who's been a victim of a road traffic accident involving excessive speed will probably welcome any measure that reduces such incidents. The problem is that speed cameras, or safety cameras to give them their official name, make a great deal of money, and it's therefore very easy for the cynical among us to ascertain that financial profit is the real reason for their existence. This theory is compounded by the fact that cameras are often located on long, straight stretches of road, with good visibility and multiple lanes, while twisty, off camber roads with hairpin bends rarely have a single camera in sight.

Regardless of what your opinion on ... Read More:

208.TomTom Go 720 Traffic Edition from: TomTom

Electronics : TomTom Go 720 Traffic Edition
I had the TomTom Go 700, which is a fantastic piece of kit, so when my daughter moved to University I thought I would treat myself to a new TomTom 720 and give my old 700 to my daughter.

Having waited over a month for delivery I was sure that it would have the latest maps - however on my first journey the first two roundabouts were missing and the third was there but it treated it as a turn. Not a good start, but then again this is Norfolk and not so well populated.

The traffic thing is a bit bizarre. I can't say I really understand it. For example travelling from Norwich to London(along the A11/M11) it gave a warning then increased my journey time to 7 hours. So I ignored its route and went towards the A12, to which it insisted I went back to the A11, ... Read More:

I bought the TomTom Go 940 LIVE as I need USA maps for next year, I was considering the 930T (as my wife already has the 530T) but I am so glad that I paid that little extra and treated myself to this new range.
It is Simply Ouststanding and I can't fault it yet (apart from the higher price obviously!!)

I have owned and used several TomTom's over the years and am so very impressed with this new design from the simple stuff like higher Volume, easy to use MP3 player with FM Transmitter (so I can have all my tunes now on this instead of the Ipod I used to leave in the car!), to the fast GPS lock so I am not waiting for ages to start driving!

However my favourite is the NEW style Dash/Window Mount which is Rock soilid and the BEST part of it is that it is now ... Read More:
