I bought a Garmin Nuvi 255 after hours, days and weeks of reading reviews and comparing features! I wanted it for our first trip to Spain, where we would be hiring a car. There seemed to be many places it did not recognise and, at times, it was very frustrating when it kept leading us round the same route, telling us to go down a one way street the wrong way, when we were trying to get it to direct us to a car park. Another time, it lead us off the beaten track, down a dusty lane way out in the sticks, telling us to turn down another lane that didn't exist and may have never existed(!) and we eventually had to stop and turn around and go back on ourselves. I have had the Garmin GPS60 for a while before getting this antenna and I was alway disappointed by the poor reception inside a car and in dense forest. However since I plugged in the antenna I have been able to get amazing reception, even on the top floor of my house! I Highly recommend this product.

I replaced my Tom Tom 300 Go with the Garmin Nuvi 350T which has now irritated me so much I have already replaced it with a Tom Tom 530T. The Nuvi 350T forces you to accept a safety message each time you start it, then it doesn't look for satellites until after you have typed in the destination on a non-qwerty keyboard, swapping back and forth to a separate numeral keyboard as necessary, and then is slow to lock on. It gives verbal lane and roundabout exit information too late for safety, uses feet and not yards, does not change volume with speed, and doesn't show your actual speed or the distance to destination. Its display is not as clear as the Tom Tom and it doesn't show a diagram of the next junction on the main display. The sound is difficult to turn ... Read More:

After getting the Foot Pod out of the box, you take your laces out of one of your running shoes feed them through the Foot Pod and press and hold the button of the front and you are away. The Forerunner detects the unit and asks if you would like to use it and if you would like to calibrate it. Calibration is easy (although I havent done it yet!), find your nearest 400m running track press start, run 800m and press stop (on the Forerunner) input your measurement and you are calibrated. Even without calibration it is 97% accurate. Its great that I can now run on my treadmill and input all of my runs on SportsTracks and Garmin training Center.
