I have just returned from Exmoor where I used my Garmin for the first time. I used it in conjunction with Memory Map software - allowing me to create OS Explorer 1:25000 scale mapping routes which I then downloaded to the Garmin as listed waypoints (routes). I did try using it manually - typing in given waypoints from guide books but this is a tad time consuming and tedious and doesn't help battery life. Although the digital mapping is easier to use, it does come at a price (Dartmoor/Exmoor £80-00), but I was so impressed I purchased the Lake District too. Great product, but i was expecting it to have an expansion slot..(ie SD memory slot) It only came with 1 GB internal memory which is full up with the West Europe maps, So stuck if travelling around West and East Europe.. Mine did have an option to cancel a route...

I bought this product in Spain, driving back to Ireland through France. The quality of the map in Spain and France is very good. I had several customer meetings both in Madrid and Paris suburbs and the device got me there every time in the time scale predicted. The traffic camera alerts were useful and accurate. Once I got back to Ireland, I found the device to be pretty good, but not as accurate detail as in Continental Europe. There are no traffic camera alerts as far as I can tell. I was looking to plan a trip to Northern Ireland and there are some details lacking on the map, since I could not find the place names. This is in fact a Motorola recharger with a similar connector ... but for some reason this is omitted in the product description!! Whether it does harm to the navman battery in the medium/long-term, I don't know, but I'm not willing to find out!

i've recently bought a navman s50. i've found it to be reliable and very simple to use. i've not yet read the instruction manual and in all honesty there isn't much need for one. the sat nav itself calculated routes quickly and if you manage to take the wrong turn it redirects you with ease. the built in bluetooth handsfree set is great, no need to clutter your car with electronics. all in all a quality piece of kit for the price.

Garmin Forerunner 205 - GA52I have had mine for a week and have found it is fantastic. I have run 5 marathons, countless half-marathons and now, at the age of 78, I walk some 130 miles a month. How I wish I had had this when training for my marathons. Read the blurb and you will see only a small proportion of what it can do. Three screens, each of which can have a variable number of panels. The display is really clear, even to my aging eyes. My only complaint is that the manual could be clearer and fuller. But if you are computer literate, there should not be any difficulty. No doubt this is worth getting, it fits perfectly around the unit, and as stated in the above comment, it gives the unit that added line of defence in case of a fall. I also agree with other comments that the clip and the extra D ring on the back are a little redundant, with the lanyard fitted and threaded through its all you need and would make the whole thing look less bulky. My word of warning... I bought mine from 'photoland_uk' and it is clearly NOT authentic. The 'Garmin' is written in completely the wrong typeface and the embossed globe logo is missing altogether. I'm not saying its of inferior quality... its just not the genuine article.

I've had the 520T for 6 months now. It was my first Sat Nav and I'm very pleased. The main device is very easy to use and has been genuinely helpful, even though I rarely drive long distance without a passenger. The plug-in traffic aerial only gives information on major roads like motorways and hasn't always been accurate, so next time I'd get just the 520 without Traffic (Tom Tom are bringing a new Traffic add-on to the UK next year, which promises to be much better, though more expensive). I'd give the 520 itself five stars and the current Traffic aerial two stars, hence four overall.

Quick and clear route planning, the wide touch screen is very good. Have used it now for several journeys in Scotland and England and very impressed. The supplied female voice is very clear with good warnings of upcoming junctions. I've used the Go 730 on the M1, M4, M8, M9, M25 and certainly appreciated this model's upgraded junction advice. I was quite happy to use the 730 without seeing the screen, just listening to the instructions, which were loud enough to hear over road/engine noise, but the kids volume had to be turned down! If you take a wrong turn (or your local knowledge is better) it asks you to turn around. Should you ignore it, it very quickly comes up with route correction, updating distances and arrival time.
