I have to say 5 stars for the actual hard drive. It's worked perfect for two years consistantly having lots of date put on and taken off. You can leave this thing on all the time and it does not get too hot and when it is on it is really quiet. The 400gb blue light is pretty cool too.

However I would warn buyers to be careful when mooving it around as the connections within the case can fail & or overheat especially if you are mooving it around during the summer.

My case failed just out of the warranty period (about 1 year) then my replacement case failed in about the same time. Bad luck? Maybe.

If yours does fail outside of the warranty period a pc shop may charge a lot to fix or put a cheap case on/backup ... Read More:

I have two of these drives and thus far I am very pleased with them. They have a huge capacity, are small and light and, are reasonably fast. They make ideal travelling companions for my MacBook. I have only two minor quibbles with the drives and they are the strange way that they connect and the lack of an off/on switch. They have a very short built in lead which has to be connected to a supplied USB extension lead. This is a slightly awkward process and I cannot for the life of me see the point of it or of how it offers any advantage over the normal procedure of plugging a lead into the back of the drive. That said, it is a minor point and I don't think that it would put me off buying another but, if I had the choice, I would go for a drive with a ... Read More:

Just a quick review, I purchased this to upgrade the hard drive in my 60gb PS3. It took about five minutes to fit and works perfectly. Instead of backing up my whole hard drive prior to the installation I merely copied my save games onto a memory card. Once I had fitted the replacement hard drive I simply copied the game data back and installed the games from the disks. Really easy and this hard drive works a treat, noticeably faster than the original hard drive (a seagate for info) when installing games such as Metal Gear Solid and Devil May Cry. No heat or performance issues. The PS Store keeps a back up of your downloads/purchases, which I simply re installed leaving my system running over night. I did encounter one problem though, for some reason ... Read More:

Great upgrade, i now have all my (very large) music collection on my PS3, as well as all my photo collection and i don't have to worry about deleting trailers and demos to free up space. fantastic.
just be careful with those screws if you're removing/refitting into the PS3. don't even THINK about starting til you have the correct size screwdriver, as you'll just chew the heads up!!!
