I was searching to get a new big hard drive for when the new avatars come out, and you can copy your games from the disk to the xbox 360 so that i don't have to take the disks along with me. And say this, and the bad 3 stars, i overlooked thinking that it was faulty and not a proper Microsoft product, but as i reviewed the products reviews i saw that some people (ages ago) thought it was too expensive and wrote a bad review.
Therefore i bought the product for Christmas 2008/2009 and it was great, i could install/copy all my games to the hard drive. "lets just say i was using the rental store allot that year" and no i wasn't cheating the system i bought the games afterwards as well its just a longer rental :)

I looked at a lot of reviews for this (on Amazon and elsewhere) and plumped for this drive because of its excellent connectivity. I'm a Mac user and Apple seem to be moving away from Firewire towards USB so I wanted to ensure the best of both Worlds. My G5 Mac has Firewire 400 and 800 and I wanted to try the Firewire 800 speed. It is very fast. I copied 160GB in around 2 hours.

The drive itself is small, neat and very quiet; a few clicks here and there but nothing too noticeable, The lights are a bit distracting if the drive is in use a lot like mine but I put it out of direct view and it is fine. The usage guage is useful but the included software on the drive has a drive capacity monitor built in which is more accurate.

Hi there,
I decided to buy this buffalo ministation from amazon when it was £79.99. It was a really good deal as free delivery applied on this product as well. In fact, I bought it in July 2008 leaving a couple of months of testing and quality assuring during the time I was back home in Thailand to make sure my review is fair and useful. My opinion on this ministation is as follows:

** Appearance **
* Great shockproof feature with a wrap-around cable. Very handy for laptop users.
* Robust and good quality case
* Extra DC port for insufficient USB port power supply, with cable included

** Performance **
* A speed of file transfer using TurboUSB software supplied with a drive is a benefit for large movie ... Read More:

65.LaCie Mobile Disk 160GB USB2.0 - 2.5 inch - Bus-powered from: Lacie

Electronics : LaCie Mobile Disk 160GB USB2.0 - 2.5 inch - Bus-powered
I have just had the misfortune to purchase a lacie drive.

After going through the very badly documented set-up procedure, I managed to get it working.

The drive was noisy and slow with poor connectivity response times.

The drive then failed, I sent it back to be repaired (took nearly a month) and now it has been returned in working condition minus all of my backups.

Utter garbage, avoid at all costs.
Terrible customer services too!

I have just received this item from Amazon. It was £10 cheaper than QVC and free postage as well.
I plugged it in and it backed up all my files, including over 1000 photos and videos in about 4 minutes. Absolutely superb piece of kit.
No need for all those memory sticks. Also easy to organise the files whilst it is plugged in. Nice looking and well made in black and chrome.
Highly recommended.

Bought this item from another vendor back in January.
It set up fine - I've used it in both USB and LAN modes without issue.
I even set it up to work on the internet for a while feeding webcam images out onto the net.

Generally it did what it claimed.

Plus points.
1 - Quiet
2 - Works on USB and NAS with little problems

Couple of issue though.
1 - Not the fastest transfer rates as it's not Gigabit LAN
2 - runs very hot when in use for a while.
3 - There is a spin down setting on the Web admin page to turn off the hard drive but the unit does not power down completely when connected to a computer that's shutting down (unlike my Buffalo USB version)
4 - Has become temperamental. It's starting ... Read More:

For those people serious about improving their mental abilities, I would advise them to steer clear of this software. The exercises are not varied enough to offer great benefit and the performance measures have many shortcomings. To be honest, I don't think much research was done on the subject before this product was made.

Having said that, it's all right for a bit of fun and for the price, you can't complain too much.
