This is a truly brilliant piece of kit.I use mine connected to my main hi-fi system(aiwa) and send the music to it through a logitech bluetooth receiver.this works well even in the next room and at a range of at least 10m.the sound quality is superb and the whole device is beautiful to use and even to look at.i use windows media player 10 which is simple and fast to sync.i tried an ipod nano before this and am extremely glad i did not purchase that as it seems very outdated in comparison.buy one!

I bought this in February. Was proper pleased with it. The size, build quality, sound (once you turned the setting up), ease of use were all fantastic. I used my choice of media player, Winamp, to update the player. It was a breeze. I'd put some new Pitchfork recommended indie on it in the evening and rock (see gently sway) it on the bus to and from work. Sometime's I'd even sneak a listen in work if the boss was away!! Anyway the battery life was great. No problem at all. I owned a nano for 3 years and this was just as good - a little more hassle to navigate but definitely not £70 worth of hassle! This is a cool piece of technology.Its small,slim and has an excellent display.Pictures are excellent.I have not experienced any scratches yet unlike some other reviews.Would of been 5 stars but for the battery life(which is not 14 hours as stated).I get up to 10 hours maximum.Also would of been nice of apple to supply an AC adaptor so I could charge the ipod from the mains rather than having to charge it through my computer.

I have the 8MB Sansa View that I bought to replace my ageing 4GB iPOD. For music its great. It has one major drawback and that is the software that you need from Sandisk to convert pictures and videos to the specific format for the player. The software (Sansa Media Converter) stops Windows Media Center (Vista) from working. Sansa do not know if it is a clash with WMC or some types of TV card. Anyways, to be able to watch TV again I have to uninstall the Sansa software. If I want to download photos or videos then I have to reinstall the Sansa software. This is a known problem according to Sandisk but they have done nothing to find a solution. In fact, everytime i raise a support case for it, they say "we are working on it" ... Read More:

My son (11) uses this Sansa e280 mostly for MP3s rather than video or radio (although he has few Goodies episodes loaded up and a selection of photos). The MP3/WMA music sound quality of the player is good, although we have upgraded the supplied in ear headphones to £20 over-ear Sennheiser headphones. You can expand the players 8Gb memory via a micro SD slot. Our 2Gb mSD expansion card works fine, and apparently a 1Gb card also works well, but it's possible the player won't recognise larger mSD sizes (e.g. 4Gb) - and only [MP3] music files can run from this SD card slot. The internal Li-ion battery is user replaceable and lasts ages between charges - well over ten hours and probably about 15 hours at the moment (7 months on).
