Having owned an Ipod that continually crashed, and a Zen that always froze this player is fantastic.Easy to use, fantastic sound quality, great display and good quality head phones that stay in my ears when jogging! Its a real bargain. Some people have complained about the charging time but I have never found a problem. I listen to and from work about 1 hour everyday and I probably charge once a week. This player is a cut abouve the Sony Walkman and most players in this price range on the market.

If you're looking for a MP3 player with a reasonably large capacity and are prepared to eschew features such as a display in favour of size, you can't go far wrong with one of these. It's dead easy to use - simply take off the cap on the end of it, shove it into a USB port and drag the music you want on it in Windows Explorer. Or use Windows Media Player, Winamp or whatever floats your boat instead. Anyway, the point is that you don't need some crappy application to transfer music to and fro, nor do you need to convert it to some icky proprietory format before it can be played. I bought this and it was great for a while but after having it for just over a year I turned it on and the screen froze and now it is dead. I contacted the manufacturer and it can't be fixed. Wont be buying one again from this make. It seems to be a common problem amongst them from what I've read. Don't get it!

Has anyone had experience of using the Creative Zen X-Fi 8Gb with external speakers. My wife wishes to use speakers in a dance studio with disabled people and ideally requires remote use.

I was absolutely amazed when the item was delivered on the following day fist class recorded having ordered it on 3rd October and was told to expect it on the 13th, well done Niche and Royal Mail! The player is easy to use but the display is on the small side and requires good light to view. The buttons are OK but the multiple function fast forward, stop, pause/play and reverse all on one button are not as convenient as single function buttons. This player replaced a Goodmans player that failed only after about 18 months, but the buttons on this were much more user friendly.

This product looks the part but unfortunately it doesn't work with Vista. Despite trawling the web looking for fixes I have finally given up and had to return the player. So be careful when purhcasing...

This is my first MP3. Had many doubts of buying one after using a Minidisc for ages. It has 10 dance tracks preloaded so when you unpack it you can enjoy it right away. It sounds great with reasonable equaliser settings to adjust base/trebble. I downloaded the software which was easy, and realised that it's the same procedure for coping tracks from PC to a CD, only you select to copy to 'The Removable Disc -MP3'. The tracks download really quickly - about 10 seconds per track. I've downloaded about 25 tracks and only used about 30% of the memory. I would guess that theres room for about 80-100 at minimum compression rate (for best sound quality). This was the first MP3 Player i'd ever had, and after reading good reviews about the easiness of use, I decided to buy it. It's sooo easy to use, and one AAA battery lasts for ages! Creative's customer service is the best I have EVER had the fortune to contact - I had a problem when I stupidly took the battery out of it when it was turned on, and all the music got wiped - A nice man from Creative guided me through the steps to re install the firmware - well done Creative - your customer service is something to be proud of. I only left this player for another when 1gb wasn't enough room for me.
