I bought one of these a few months ago for my 24" iMac running Leopard, to use with Time Machine. I'm about to buy another one for my other Mac, as I'm very impressed with it for the price. I have already 'rescued' something from Time Machine that I had wiped off by mistake, but now have back, thanks to this little device. I found some of the alternatives large and ugly (and expensive) which is why I initially went for this product. I don't like too much clutter! I purchased this specifically for it's encryption facility to run with my iMac under OSX. Although the enclosed instructions seem comprehensive I was unable to format the drive as required nor to get the encryption working. Freecom support were very attentive though and advised me to download the software for an altogether different drive which worked. A further problem materialised on installation in that although I had partitioned the drive to work with both my mac and with a PC, the PC partition was not recognised by the PC despite the best efforts of Freecom support (email and telephone) and much reformatting on my part. Only had my Hard Drive a couple of weeks and so far so good. It's a great design and looks great on my desk. Only problem I don't think you can turn it off and the blue light on the front is very bright and as I have my desk located in my room it like a night light. Dose any one no if I would lose my data if I was to turn it off when not in use?
