Thanks to the very specific reviews on Amazon in respect of looking for the Mk2 (thanks guys on .com) I took a leap of faith and bought this, and I'm glad to say it has delivered what I needed for my iPhone 3G. I hate having to faff-around and was in the position of having to remove the silicone skin I have on the phone to put it into the 3G dock at night (even though it is quite thin). For me it's rendered the official dock (and extra cost!) rather obsolete but that's another story... The adjustable wheel on this Sony has solved the problem and has allowed me to listen to all my podcasts easily. Functionality to drive the phone through the remote control is better than expected and it charges fine. Read More:

The sound quality is great for the price and the price is equaly as good as on most websites it's valued for double it is on here. Excellent product. Would definaly recommend.

Intempo IDS05 B Speaker and Docking Station - Black I agree with the majority of other reviews that this speaker dock creates a great sound mainly due I think to the inclusion of a 9 watt subwoofer. Unfortunately it does not support recharching of the new Ipod Nano (4th generation), which is not mentioned in the product description. However, all other facilities are supported using the remote control. Was thinking of returning this item but so pleased with the sound that I decided to keep it.

I can't recomend Squeezebox with ReadyNas. Half the time the controller can't find squeezecentre. This happens after periods of inactivity. Once you get it up and running which can be a process of turning the reciever off and taking the battery out of the controller, it's great. But it's too flaky at the moment. Hope these issues get sorted out soon or I might have to stamp on it !It's a pity.

I bought this item mainly because of other customers reviews. I didn't want a 'plastic' box so upon receiving this solid wooden box I was initially impressed and it was a nice looking unit once switched on. Running the unit off an adapter was bearable but would rather have the PSU in the unit to make things easier. The main problem is the sound dispersion. I have recently moved the location of the unit and have found it has an incredibly small listening angle, the treble becomes too dull and the bass, which was previously clear and punchy, becomes suprisingly muffled. Yes, battery life... mine went dead after less than a year of usage which is disappointing. The logic of the navigation on the Zen Stone is frustrating; meant to be intuitive it is in fact a cluttered and often unresponsive effort which the designer could have avoided. It comes with no clip - I understand this is part of the 'pebble' design but from a practical point of view (i.e. when in the gym or on the move),and for something so small, a clip would have been highly useful. Following the premature `death' of the Zen Stone I am now opting for a Sandisk Sansa Clip which hopefully will prove a more long lasting choice.

Well, based on the other great reviews I just purchased this item and set it up with eager anticipation. What a disappointment! It feels and looks quite well built, everything worked straight out the box and even the remote works perfectly. The problem is with the sound. It's certainly got punch, but it's also lost quality. I'm playing classical music which I know sounds absolutely beautiful on the Bose...and it sounds maddeningly ordinary and dull on this. I tried to improve things by adjusting the treble / base but no matter how I set these the result was wrong. I was looking for an alarm clock and an ipod speaker stand - saw this and thought I'd combine the two! The unit works straight out the box and set up is a doddle, the speaker is on a scale of 1 (soft) - 40 (mental) and the system is a nice piano black with a nice and bright face (4 settings) that can be turned off or light up the room bright. It has 2 alarms so you can set one for you and one for someone else, and you can wake to the radio/buzzer/ipod. If you want to wake up to the ipod you must leave it plugged in - in play mode. It will also charge your ipod whilst it is docked. It has various adaptors that will fit virtually any ipod (even my 3rd generation nano which it says its doesn't!) and a aerial for the radio. ...
