Many would go for this product because of the woeful life of the standard battery in the treo 680 (less than 4 hours in steady use). This over-sized battery is supposed to have 3 times the capacity of the standard - however, it seems to last barely 50% longer. I guess this means you can almost get through a day without a recharge - however, again, the phone assumes a clunky 'pregnant' shape with the over-sized back cover , and Proporta, the case makers who offer this battery, do not offer a case to go with it. This means you have to carry the phone around in a camera bag or similar. Not worth the money - how do they justify £56 ?

This charger maybe used with a Clié PEG-TH55 as well as other Clié models. A three wire ribbon cable rewinds into the large cigarette-lighter plug when the retract button is pressed and can be pulled out when it is needed. The cable is about 0.9m long. Unfortunately the ribbon cable is far too flimsy and can't take any rough handling. I put it in my glove box in the retracted state but the cable broke off within the first few days. I would recommend buying a standard non-retractable charger with proper cable strain relief.
