I bought this to replace a 5 port hub in my growing home network. I simply swapped over all the Cat5 leads and that was it as far as installation went! As with any switch (or hub), it does what it says on the box without fuss.

not only are the instructions next to useless. this does not work with multifuncion printers - i was told by belkin 3 hours after opening the packet. "we did have a switch that used to work, but it had too many problems, so we discontinued it" marvellous. worst product ever. dont waste your bandwith looking at it.

This, like all Zyxel home electronics, is an excellent product. Basically it does what it says on the tin - 8 port 10/100Mbps autosensing Ethernet. Unlike some home Ethernet switches, these ports are not oversubscribed, which means you get the full 100Mbps per port. There are also 3 ports which offer "QoS", presumably taking priority over the other 5 ports in the event of congestion. Easy to install, simple to run, and in my experience it has never failed (I own several, none have ever failed). For this price, you simply can't go wrong. One word of caution: some suppliers are based in Europe and ship to the UK. Just make sure they include a UK plug!
