This is a good, little machine, with no wobbly bits or bits to break!!! Comes with two clamps for attaching to things (pushchair is suggested!!). Everything is solid and chunky and the sound is excellent. A great way to carry an ipod. Comes with mains adaptor and lots of easy to fit plugs for europe etc, robust handle and zip. Not sure i will be able to keep the cover clean, as is soft plastic. Approx 9x9x22cm, so not slimline, but great for carting around and setting up quickly. Highly recommend

I have been using these Altec Lansing XT2 speakers with an h/p Pavilion Notebook as well as with an Apple Mac Pro. In both cases, I haven't needed to use the external power supply (supplied as standard in the very nice travelling case), but just power from the USB port itself (the external power supply is probably very useful if one only has available 'low-power' USB ports designed for things such as a mouse and/or a keyboard).

The sound quality at low to medium volume levels is absolutely excellent. However, I can't give these speakers 5-stars because of slight distortion at maximum volume - and especially at the higher frequency range.

But overall, the simplicity of just plugging these speakers into a USB port [that ... Read More:

These speakers look fantastic with my Apple Macbook. The sound they produce is fantastic too. Can't fault them in that department. They are loud enough for me when watching dvd's. However if you want to be deafened whilst watching a dvd then I suggest you look at other speakers.

The only complaint I have is the fact you can't just plug them into your computer and they will work. You have to plug them into a plug socket aswell as your computer for them to work. Also the wires are not particularly long between the speakers so you can't exactly put one on one side of your room and the other on the other side because they won't reach!

Thes funky little speakers are great. Plenty of charge time, easy to carry around and come with a carry case. They charge via USB (not from mains but direct from PC (USB to USB)). But do not get carried away, they are tiny speakers and not any good for outdoor use. Indoor they will fill a with good sound and attract attention that all that sound is coming from something small. When I used outdoors on holiday however the surrounding sounds from the pool and noisy Northerners only allowed the two nearest sunbeds to hear them.

I first looked at the JBL On Tour portable speakers, and was disappointed with their build quality and easily damaged finish.
Having now purchased the Sony SRS-T80, I can highly recommend the latter...solid, nicely finished, simple design and no fancy covers to break, just a neat fabric carrying bag.
The sound quality is good for the size , even with classical music...bass is slightly deficient so not ideal for full orchestral works, but still quite acceptable for listening away from home. I didn't expect them to equal my large hi-fi speakers (and they don't, of course!) but I was not disappointed.
Volume is excellent and battery life seems good, though I've also invested in the Sony mains adaptor for bed-time listening...saves draining ... Read More:
