We bought these from a high street shop, and unfortunately lost the receipt. The phones looked and felt cheap (which we didn't really mind), but the quality turned out to be dire on all fronts. The battery life talktime was about 30 mins when we got it but after a week was about 1 min (we did follow the instructions on charging the batteries etc). The LCD readouts on the screens started losing bits so you could hardly read them, and the line quality was so poor you could often not carry out a conversation even though you were standing right next to the base unit (and yes we do have a broadband filter on the line). Bought this phone approx. a year ago. It was great for about 6 months but rapidly went down hill. The battery life is very poor, the phones cut off for no reason and have become completely unreliable.

I disagree with the reviewer who disliked the ring tones on this phone. I've been trying lots of different phones lately and this one has quite tolerable ring tones compared to others that are out there. But the problem with this phone is that it has a list of recent calls, together with a blinking light, which can't be turned off. This is because it was designed to be used with BT's subscription voice mail system. But if you don't have a subscription voice mail, and you also have several phones sharing one line (as is the case in my apartment), this feature is annoying since every time you come home, the light is blinking, and in order to stop it blinking you must scroll through all the recent calls and select "delete all".

In many respects this is a very nice product. However, it has one highly significant flaw. Long before it reaches the maximum usable range it starts beeping at you to tell you that the signal strength is low. This comes as the form of random beeps during an active call which are very distracting. There is no way to switch this BEEP off! I had an older set of BT DECT phones that worked just fine for a number of years before I swapped them out in favour of these new phones. The old BT DECT phones worked fine, these new Graphite 1100 handsets BEEP at you during the call making it impossible to carry on a conversation. Don't buy unless you are going to keep the handsets close to the base station.

I would have awarded no stars if the system would have allowed me. After 14 months of use, 3 of the 4 phones are now unusable and Amazon have fallen back on the fact that the one year warrantee has run out and will not replace. Appalling waste of money, £90+ spent on a phone system that does not work after just over a year - anyone considering these phones should take heed. This is the first time I have had a problem with anything bought from Amazon, but I am now very wary about buying anything other than a CD or DVD from Amazon in the future. Given that three of the four phones have failed suggests something fundamentally wrong with the units something that any High Street retailer would recognise and would offer a without prejudice ... The phone, when working well, is very good, with large memory for numbers, clear display. But out one is not a reliable product, sadly. The sound quality is very bad sometimes, with a too-quiet speakerphone on the base station (the DECT handsets are better). Had to return our first set after several months as the backlight for the base unit's display failed. The DECT handset occasionally loses contact with the base unit, even though it's in the normal useable range. Even when connected, sometimes transferring a call fails to work, for no obvious reason. Newer models may be better, ours is a few years old now.

Received it in mail had to tweak a little with uploading the software but after that it worked brilliantly. No hassle what so ever. Fine it might not have a display screen but i saw it before buying it so no complains. Quality of the voice to my suprise was very very clear and has a neat little stand for the phone which i have placed on my bedside. Its not cordless needs connecting through USB and need no other power adapter as it get power from USB. Quiet simple and straight forward to use don't need to be a rocket scientist to use it as long as you can read the little manual book to learn the etra features which again is your choice otherwise it clearly marked which button to use to make a call and to disconnect a call. I purchased this phone for my parents as after much searching, thought that this combined both good looks and ease of use. It is primarily a business phone, but when delivered it is pre-set for home use so there is no need to change any of the settings. The only setting that needs changing is the tone type to which you have a choice of three. Although some functions will never be used (head-phone connection and data port), it is a great phone and well worth a look if you have no mains power near your phone line, the batteries are even included and these are only used for keeping the stored numbers backed-up if you unplug the phone from the phone-line for more than 3 minutes. On the plus side, it looks nice, is sturdily made and the sound is loud and clear. On the minus side... well, it feels like 1980s technology to me. The phone directory has a 14 character limit, you have to create separate entries for home number, mobile number and office number instead of having them all under the same name, and the ringtones are really ghastly. I think I have found one that I can just about live with, but I'd rather have a traditional ringtone than what they have supplied. I plan to give it away when I can find a better one. There seems to be an assumption that anyone who wants a modern phone wants a digital cordless one and the technology seems to have stood still for the corded phone.
