Electronics : Yamamoto 1025 USB Skype LCD handset (Cool Silver)
We have had this phone for about a year now, mine is a rather nice "Deep Red" colour, not the current silver.
It was used initially with our PC but now my wife uses it with her lap-top. Audio quality is very good and it integrates nicely with Skype when the supplied software is used. Not sure how useful the LCD is, it does show time and date and who is calling but in reality it has to be used with a PC and the iformation is on the PC screen or, if they have a webcam, you can see them!
It is well made and handles nicely. Quite small, fits in a laptop bag; we have used it to call from abroad several times.

This phone is absolutely awful. I was supposed to be "up-grading" my phones at home which are old BT Freelance XA100's; However the BT phones puts the Motorola to shame and you can pick them up for about a tenth of the price.

So what's wrong.

1. The sound clarity from the earpiece is very poor
2. The battery life is amazingly short, less than 24hrs standby
3. The sim card reader function couldn't read either of my sim cards or my wifes
4. The base station blew up within 3 days of having the phone
5. The screen is ridiculously small
6. The ringtones are awful
7. It looks cheap
8. The handsets just fall out of the charger units.

Good points, the speaker phone function ... Read More:

88.IPEVO FREE1 VOIP and Skype Compatible Internet Telephone - Free1white from: Ipevo

I bought a white Ipevo ages ago and use it all the time, especially on the move abroad - the sound is as good as a normal telephone. Minor irritations are: when plugged in the software makes the phone the primary speaker so your music gets played through it. The cord is long and not coiled and so gets tangled with everything in your bag and bulkier than is necessary - freecom version has coiled flex and is also cheaper. Forget bluetooth sets, once you use this you can't put up with the crap sound and unreliability.
