This is a fun item, and by that I mean it isn't the best quality camera at the price. The binoculars are good quality, and put togther with the camera make this a useful two-in-one for events such as horse racing. The camera is easy to use and you get about 200 photos for you battery power. The Hi Res photos are about 5inches by 7 inches, and the software can be used to change the lighting and add effects. What I would say, however, is that this camera does require a decent sunny day- it can't be used indoors at all. As such don't buy it to use at concerts etc. Also it does switch off far too quickly- often you press the button to take a snap at a critical moment, and find the camera is off. In conclusion ... I bought this camera when it was the top of the range model and it cost me £249.99. It's an excellent camera used it loads and never had any problems with it.

At the beginning of 2005 i had set my heart on a Canon EOS 350D digital SLR. This seemed like the most natural step up from years of using a 2mega pixel finepix camera by fuji..just a basic model. I am a third year design student who mainly photographs plants at close distance, so i was attracted to this olympus by the macro function and low price (after the SLR money found its way into the till at my local). To say i was pleased with it is an understatement. I have not only photographed hundreds of plants successfully but have been away to Rome and Barcelona and taken pictures with STUNNING results. I do throw things away but i would not chuck my kodak dx3215 away- it would be silly of me! it is an excellent digi camera. the battery takes about two/four hours to fully charge and lasts a very long time and the docking station keeps it topped up. i particlarly found the software usefull and simple to use. my kids love playing with it. we have tons of family albums in print and copied over to cd disk. i bought mine last year for £270 but this camera has come done a bit since then. technology has its way! however for current prices this camera (with a docking station) is a good deal. just try it and see for yourself!

Having owned this camera for some three years all I can say is it's brilliant I'll not get rid of it until I have to, and would buy another if needed The decals around all the switches wears off after a few years of hard use though, but bearing in mind I've taken upwards of ten thousand pictures you might think that was reasonable Buy one, it's pukka!

I have owned this camera for a few years now and find it can be extremely frustrating. Landscapes and stills tend to be brilliant but trying to take photos of my son can prove to be difficult. The slightest movement will cause a blurred picture as there is a delay between you pressing the button and it actually taking a photo. Numerous sporting photos have been taken and deleted due to the subject having moved completely out of shot by the time the camera has decided to take the picture (even in sports mode). To summise, this camera is great if you do not need to ever take a picture of anything which is likely to move.
