this camera was bought for me as a christmas present even though i already picked it out. i was very impressed. after a couple of days i could find my way around the camera very easily. 3.1mp is enough for somebody looking for a nice camera for holidays and special occasions etc. the x4 optical zoom doesnt blur at all and you can combine this with the digital x3.5 zoom to make an overal zoom of x14 which only blurs a bit. i thought the video feature would be pretty naff but it has an amazing focus and doesnt blur at all which is a plus. also there are many different modes to shoot with including a night vision mode where it can produce perfectly good pictures in pitch black dark. finally the pictures displays incredibly well on the computer ... I needed a cheap camcorder to do a video diary for a school project, it was good for that. Although please note this doesn't come with a memory disk. Also I would not advise to buy this product if you are not going to use it outside in day light- the lighting on this camera is extremely sensitive. It was bright light in my room but would come out extremely dark on the footage. This was really annoying. It also eats batteries like no tomorrow! If you're looking for a camera that you're always going to use, it's worth investing a little bit more money in one that has it's own battery you can charge up- it will reap more in the future. Friends of mine had the GSmart 2 and that was okay, so I naturally thought that it's successor would be decent....WRONG! Has gotten worse with age and REALLY struggles to take in-focus pictures, it suffers badly from what I think is called "parallax error"- whereby the image taken is not what you see in the viewfinder. It has a tendency to lock-up making you have to re-set the camera, thus losing all images. Buyer beware!
