Electronics : Sony DSC-P50 Digital Camera [2.1MP 3xOptical]
It depends what one is used to, I suppose. Myself, I am no kind of expert in either cameras or photography, and not even much of an enthusiast. I got this camera in a fit of exasperation at a series of mishaps with my 35mm effort, and I can only say that as an unadventurous amateur I have been absolutely delighted with it and I don't grudge one penny of what I paid for it.

I chose it at random, and the only comparisons I'm able to make with other digital cameras are with those I've seen my friends use. This one is certainly on the big side - it doesn't fit comfortably into a coat pocket, for instance, but it can still be carried there. When taking photos there has occasionally been more restriction than I might have liked as regards ... Read More:

Electronics : Olympus C2100Z Digital Camera [2MP 10xOptical]
I've been using my Olympus C-2100UZ for nearly a year now. I bought Olympus because I've used Olympus for 20 years and I figured a camera maker would know better how to make a camera than an electronics company. I was right!
This camera has all the automatic features you could wish for, and they all work really well. For an inveterate fiddler like me, there's Manual over-ride or you can set Aperture or Shutter priority. The auto-stabilisation is truly excellent, even at full zoom (optical + digital) a pin-sharp photo is possible in low light and hand-held. There's automatic or manual "film speed" equivalents so you can select 100ASA for best quality or better than 400ASA for faster speed.
With the zoom capabilities of this camera you get ... Read More:

This was my first foray into the world of digital photography. I thought I had better catch up with the rest of the world! It's great! Being able to preview your photos, and delete the "failures" saves so much money, and it's so simple, as it tells you on screen what to do.I don't know what I did without mine now, and I would never go back to an ordinary camera. The only thing I have to get used to is the quick drain on batteries, so am going to invest in a battery charger with rechargeable batteries.I would recommend this to anyone just starting out - if I can master it, anyone can!

With over 6 years of experience with digital cameras I like to think I know what I'm taking about and this is one of the best cameras I have ever using in this range, it gives top photos and printing repudiations. And with the price being so low you can't go wrong. For a first time buyer it gives easy to use and cheapness all in one camera, with out losing the quality.
very good staters camera

Electronics : Nikon COOLPIX 775 Digital Camera [2.1MP 3xOptical]
The 775 was my second digital camera I had always had Pentax film cameras but fancied a Nikon so after reading a number of reviews I bought the coolpix. The photos were very impressive it was a pity to have to reduce them in size to put on a couple of websites I run (smaller pix = quiker loading time) I have a second battery which is advisable.
A year and 2 months later it stopped working, the lens stuck half way extended, back to Nikon for an expensive repair (over £100) since it came back it now discharges the battery if left in the camera for a day or so, and intermittantly refuses to take a photo....just like the human body..excellent when it works but a severe pain when it goes wrong. I will not be sending it back for repair again. I am in the market for ... Read More:

Pros of Fuji S602Z...

1. Quality of prints superb on higher quality (6M Fine, and above) setting for brilliant upto A4 print size,I have some magic family, wildlife and landscape pictures, but as usual do not try sending via web, eats up megabytes of storage. Just resize down with Works XP.
2. Quality of construction of camera fantastic, been dropped several times, once on concrete when wrist strap broke, but still 100% functioning. Extended lens has taken couple of side swipes that required "manual" re-aligning, but all still in full working order..impressive.
3. Menu took some getting used too as Auto mode is not all seeing all doing. Spend an evening or two messing around with it
4. Do get a 1 GB Compact Flash memory its worth the expenditure ... Read More:

Okay, its tiny, but this had lead to a ridiculous battery life.
Bad enough is that the battery lasts only about 3 days if off. What is totally unusable is the 3-4 hour life once pictures have been taken. If you leave it longer than that then the pictures are lost. So you always have to be within a few hours of a PC. It only charges via an active USB port, so you have to leave a computer on for 2 hours to charge it.
The other niggles I have are the movie function simply doesn't work. Also, it only works for the administrator of a Win 2000 or XP PC. The installer doesn't sort out the permissions to allow other users to use the transfer tool - it bombs with insufficient rights error. I suspect the driver has only been tested on 98 or ME. Support is non existant.
Okay, ... Read More:
