Electronics : Cable & Wireless 802.11G Wireless LAN ADSL Router
Off The Bookshelf's Price: £45.52

Used Price: £14.99

I give this item 2 stars instead of 1 for 2 reasons.

Firstly it is easy to set up, at least I found it to be so.
Secondly it does work occasionally rather than not at all.

Other than that its a poor performer. Not only does it seem to contain the heat of a small sun once its up and running it also stops working seemingly at random. If you are uploading or downloading large amounts it can get infuriating. So much so infact that once I recieve my new router I have ordered I shall take this one out back with a claw hammer and let out my frustration.

If you are an infrequent user this router might be okay, but even then check with your doctor first.

I bought this router ages ago and I've only just decided to warn you of the problems I've had in the past and present.

At first because I was on AOL, setting was nearing impossible. I spent 3 days at least messing with it and asking on forums all over the net. Secondly, the connection wasn't and still isn't stable,. I seem to change a setting somewhere to check something and internets gone. Thirdly, I spent a further 2 weeks attempting to configure my WPNT834 router with it and to get Xbox Live over wireless, wasted £[...] on an adaptor that I later found "was not compatible", I never knew something existed in this day of technology.

Finally, and probably the most important point, don't bother going near this if you plan ... Read More:

I'm suprised they (Buffalo) even continue selling this product!

I have some NAS Disk drives from Buffalo so thought buying this from then would ensure compatibility. (By the by I'm happy with these)

Didn't work with the Link Station and didn't work with Old Terastation. Did get it to work with a newer TS but then found out it was slow, overheats and crashes. The most irritating part though is that you can't seem to 'jump' through the files in your media folders and starting each time at A trying to find a photo/song/film begining with Z is very tedious. (I might have missed this in the instructions but if such a basic function is not obvious then this in itself is a failure). Worked also with a PC (with issues) but, If I wanted ... Read More:
