I bought this card as a test to see how the card performed before I upgrade my whole home network to gigabit (testing it at the lower speeds).
It was very easy to configure with my Windows 2000 Server machine which also dual boots with Ubuntu linux. The disk comes with the source code to create a linux driver but I managed to find out the name of the driver when I heard that it was already included in the Ubuntu distribution.
After configuration, it works great with both Windows 2000 Server and Ubuntu and has already improved network performance even before upgrading the rest of the network and cables to gigabit.
I have had problems with some other Belkin products but am very impressed with this one. Especially as Belkin include ... Read More:

I've had this card for around 3 weeks and my computer has been freezing up every couple of hours.

My PC is a very high spec (Dell XPS420) with Windows Vista Ultimate, so no problems there. I got one blue screen which told me that the problem was undiagnosed, but "related to wireless networking". No prizes for guessing the culprit there then!

Netgear seem to be feigning ignorance about this issue, as so many users online have complained about the same issue but Netgear won't acknowledge the problem on their website, and don't publish any fix. No doubt this issue will be fixed in their next product release, requiring users stuck with the issue to go and buy another Netgear product! Won't be doing that myself!

Electronics : Belkin Pre-N MIMO Wireless Laptop Adapter
My neightbour has been sharing his WiFi with me for the last 2 years and his router is 20 meters away from my laptop with 4 walls in-between. My laptop is a centrino with a high standard centrino WiFi network adapter. But it was simply too much. I struggled to understand why it kept disconnecting from the network and getting a very irregular data flow. I found out this 'high standard' network adapter might have some problems (not listed on Intel Website but in loads of forums). But I realised all that was just bullsh*** after I took the risk to buy the Belkin Pre-N. The only problem WiFi B and G networks have is the signal stability in long-range environments. If that matters for you, believe me this pre-N is plainly a miracle. Perfectly stable 34 mBits/s ... Read More:

Another good product by Thomson, Speedtouch 576 was another good one. I can still connect my old wireless devices to it, something that I could not do with other new routers.
The only quirk I find with the TG585 is the fact that the wireless speed stays mostly at 11Mbps, that's with just one wireless device connected to it. It rarely goes up to the maximum 54 Mbps that my Netgear wireless adapter supports. 5 stars if it wasn't for this.
But then I guess this does not matter in the UK as broadband speeds are rarely over 6Mbps.

I bought this ethernet bridge after giving up on ever getting a wireless adapter that actually works properly with Vista 64bit. I decided that since the problem was the Vista software, my best approach was to ignore the problem entirely. I was rather dismayed on opening the parcel to find that it claims not to be Vista compatible. However, this simply isn't true! The installation CD isn't Vista compatible, but it also isn't essential. The system can be set up manually by anyone with enough know-how to have a wireless router set up in the first place. Make sure you follow GAZªr's advice on IP addresses when you first install it.
After having a buggy wireless connection that dropped and lagged all the time, this is a breath of fresh air! Highly recommended ... Read More:

I feel compelled to write a review (there is a first time for everything). I bought the WPN311 because I have a Netgear DG834PN RangeMax wireless router which has been very good - I wanted to add wireless functionality to my rather old Dell desktop and thought I might have compatibility issues if I went with another wireless PCI provider. I read the reviews for the WPN311 (noting the varied comments about the accompanying software - not all favourable). It arrived. I installed it and during the process I flipped a coin and opted to use the accompanying Netgear software (driver and management programme). Bad move - it worked fine for a few weeks and then for no reason refused to connect to the router, the software crashed continuously and then finally I ended ... Read More:

I went out on a bit of a limb here when buying this card. I naturally assumed that it would work with Microsoft's Windows Home Server without checking first. I was wrong. Netgear, it would seem, don't really want to market this card at homer server enthusiast. They have not released any drivers.

So I had the thought to check if it had any Server 2003 drivers. Nope, none. I've read in other reviews that this card will not work with Windows Home Server, but I'm happy to report that that is not the case! This product DOES work with Windows Home Server. But, as stated, for some unknown reason Netgear don't want to give us the drivers to make it so.

From what I can determine the GA311 uses the Realtek RTL8169 chipset. Luckily enough for us Reaktek ... Read More:
