This is a great all round book with good layout and lots of nice photos. It covers lots of basic recipes so there is something for every occasion. I've made the Apple Cake twice and it is really delicious, and, importantly, looks good - making it all the more impressive when served to non-vegans. Not all the recipes call for egg replacer - lots give flax seeds as the main replacer or as an option. I would definitely recommend this book, along with Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World, for anyone interested in vegan baking.

This is really quite a slim little volume, so it may not seem the best value compared to some baking books out there, but it's a brilliant little book. There are certainly enough recipes in here to make a surprising variety of brownies and blondies, my favourites are the mint ones! What's more the recipes are nice and simple and come out really well. Also the small size is great on the kitchen counter as it takes up so little room. I maybe wouldn't bother if you already have The Divine Chocolate book (by the same author) as it contains several brownie recipes, but this book is perfect for the beginner or brownie lover.

I was given this book as a present and though I certainly wouldn't have chosen it for myself, it does cover an incredible range of ideas and occassions for cupcake lovers. I was always taught to keep food decoration within the realm of the natural so the blue and red fourth of july cupcakes were a bit tough for me to stomach, though they tasted fabulous. This is my personal favourite cake book out of all my cake recipe books (and I have quite a few). The recipes are simple and absolutely delicious. I have almost made all the cakes in the book and intend on making the rest eventually. My favourite is the Hummingbird cake, as well as the Carrot cake. This book has a lovely variety of cakes to make. Something for everyone.

If you want a inspiration for a wedding cake that is a little different then this is the book for you. It's easy for beginners to understand and the techniques are laid out in a clear step-by-step manner. The examples included are lovely - even if you never make a cake, it's a nice book to have and pour over. I had never made a wedding cake, but managed to produce a very different, conteporary cake for my own wedding day. Easy!
