I used this book for the first time as my boy's school was looking for individual cakes to sell for Children in Need. I had a number of over-ripe bananas and decided to make the banana muffin receipe. I had never tried making muffins before so I was looking for first time success and would have been disappointed if they hadn't turned out. I was very pleased with the results. I made 14 muffins in total, 2 of which myself and my husband had with our cup of tea. They were beautiful. The receipe was well laid out with easy to follow instructions, providing you with handy tips/suggestions. This book is a must have, creating mouth watering muffins which everyone will enjoy. What a gem of a little book. recipes for all the British classics in easy to follow format. Ingredients generally very easy to source, method suitable even if you don't have a thermometer, nice little intro to each recipe telling it's history. A nice little book that is a great addition to any confectioners collection.

Great modern designs and step by step guide on how to create a 3 tier square or round whimsical cake. Lots of lovely separators and jewels used, a nice book to have in your collection.

Nice book, great inspiration. Worth noting it is US in origin, so recipes in US measures and other references to US sourced bits and bobs.

This book is excellent. The recipes really work and are nothing like the dry dreadful bread found in health shops. I very often make the muesli loaf and it works out every time - guaranteed! I highly recommend this book!

I was sadly dissapointed with this book. The designs are a bit basic. There are one or two designs that I might copy but that's all. Many of the cakes are finished in butter cream which is vey messy for children and I think the British are more likely to prefer an icing finish. This might be suitable for someone who's never made a cake before but I found it uninspiring.

An excellent cupcake book with delicious, easy-to-follow recipes which produce exactly what you see in the photo and the best cupcakes I have tasted. There may not be quite as many recipes as some other cupcake books, but the recipes are so diverse that everyone will have a personal favourite (personally I love the Rocky Road Cupcakes and my dad loves the Orange & Almond Cupcakes). You will definitely not be disappointed!

If you're hunting for a cupcake book for decoration ideas, this is the book for you. There's only a few sponge recipes at the beginning, which then includes the different frosting and icing that can be added to create the finished article. The rest of the book is about the different decoartion designs that can be incorporated to suit every occassion - not the type of book for someone like me if you wanted simple cupcake recipes.

This book is really great. It caters for beginners in cake decorating as well as more advanced sugarcrafters. It is a comfy size with gorgeous colourful pictures and fantastic advice throughout. I am thrilled to bits with my purchase!
