I had not read anything by Ainsley prior to this and neither watch TV cookery shows! But I do own a number of 'comprehensive' books from the USA about BBQs. None is as easy to read or filled with such good ideas for marinades, sauces, salads etc. I am not easily impressed but this book has impressed me and some of my neighbours in Spain who have asked me to buy them a copy!

We have purchased MANY barbecue books over the last few months, and had really high hopes for this title based on the reviews. Sadly the book is very much geared to the American Market (and why shouldn't it be - the author is American himself) and I feel does not measure up well to our homegrown barbecue manuals. There are LOADS of recipes, but I feel that we will only try a few.

As a student and a cooking novice, it gives me good tips on pressure cooking in general, has many recipes for all kinds of food styles (e.g. meats, fresh veggies, legumes, grains, fruits, seafood, etc.), and seeks to fill the recipes with healthy, low-fat ingredients. There's even a section "Cooking for One." For rookie pressure cookers like me, and even for the cooking veteran, THIS BOOK IS A MUST!

Sarah writes fabulous cook books. This one is a good selection of her recipes. They always turn out as they should and are easy to do. If you can get to one of Sarah's demonstrations then do - she will teach you how to use your AGA and you will not believe how easy cooking really impressive meals becomes.

I picked this up recently and am very pleased with it. Is packed full of modern and desirable dishes, have made the Gingered Beef with Bay so far and was lovely and rich. Also agree it is easy to use, not to many weird ingredients! The book is nicely laid out with a rather good looking section on desserts! Cant wait to try the coconut & lime rice pudding! Is good to know you can use the slowcooker for more than beef casserole!
