I bought this book on Amazon without having seen it 'in the flesh' and I regret the decision. The book looks and reads on an 'old-fashioned' style. There are no photos and there is nothing exciting about the writing or presentation. The author begins the book by stating her conviction that there are two types of people in the world - those who do not have a pressure cooker and those who can't live without one. I was and remain in a third category of people - I have owned a pressure cooker for a year but have still only used it once or twice....and this book did not convince me or entice me to try again.

This is a fantastic cookbook. All the recipes are very easy to follow and quick to put together. It contains lots of recipe hints and additional ideas to spice up the dish. I gave it 4* because even though it's obtainable in the UK there are ingredients therein that you can't purchase here. So you either have to adapt it or not make it at all. Other than that there are lots to choose from. It offers comfort food recipes from meat, poultry to veggies and desserts.

This book caters for all makes of machines and all skill levels.It gives English weights for cup measurements if needed.If you only buy one book I think this is the best.

Having bought Aga Easy (Lucy's second book) I was compelled to buy "...Country Kitchen", her first book. And sure enough I'm not disappointed. But there wasn't really any doubt was there? The recipes are varied, easily followed and written in a way that you feel Lucy has told you personally what to do. Cookery books is such a competitive market that it's difficult to know what to buy. Take my advice and get this. Personally, I'm going to wait for her next publication and buy that too!

It is explicit and has pages of handy hints explaining exactly how best to make use of the processor. Some of the ingredients are measured in cups and this makes everything so simple. (Sets of cups can be bought very cheaply). All in all, I love it and will make full use of it.
