I've never been one for cooking, and I was never taught how to cook either. This book has been great for learning how to enjoy cooking, and both my son and I have really benefited from it. The recipes are simple, and I still dip into the book now, even though my son's older, for inspiration. The pages are covered in food splashes and half of them are repaired with sellotape, a sign of a well used, well loved receipe book :o)

Im no longer a student but probably a worse cook than most. Felt the need to master the basics, so decided to get a cookbook. This one appealed to me as it was a user friendly size, had good pictures and was aimed at the right level ie. beginner aiming to progress on to bigger fancier things. I have already tried out some of the recipes with success and i am glad to report that i have baked my first ever cake with this book, which even impressed my cynical boyfriend (who is not usually a fan of my cooking abilities.) I look forward to trying more recipes and mastering more dishes.

great recipes (shame no pics tho - i do like a recipe book to have pics) which we are still using in our house (not just the toddler recipes) cos they're healthy, low on salt, sugar ecetera and as littlun has got older we've just stopped pureeing them. good buy and plenty of scope for improvisation if you don't have the exact ingredients

Not many recipes and most aren't very interesting. We did BLW so was hoping this book would provide some ideas. But big disappointment

I feel compelled to comment about this excellent recipe book aimed specifically at babies, toddlers and children. It is the best book of its kind out there and has been an absolute lifesaver. My 1 year old doesn't like food much... in fact he only started eating at 9 months. I tried all sorts of food, bought and otherwise. Quite simply, the most success I have had is with recipes from this book. I currently have one in the oven and one on the stove as I'm typing. I really love the format too. Much more useful than the Annabel Karmel books and a must have for all mums (and dads!).

Like most 5 year olds mine doesn't really relish the thought of a bowl of stew. But he sat and ate the in his words 'delicious' stew from this book tonight. The book is easy to follow and uses normal everyday store cupboard ingredients. I have used this book more than any of the 40 plus cookery books I have in my collection and have yet to find a dud recipe! As they say in all the best pitches if you only buy one book this year make it this one!The instructions are simple and you there is nutritional and storage information on each page. A most for family cooks everywhere !

I was given this book as a present, as we have recently started weening. The recipes are healthy and easy to follow as well as being totally suitable for the whole family, even the recipes for the six month olds (although perhaps before it is pureed!) This is making life so much easier not having to cook several different meals! The recipes cover food for all different occasions snacks, main meals even party food.. Gina has most things covered here...

I had heard of this book a few years back when my son was 2. For his 3rd birthday party, I made a whole host of scrumptious food from the book, which not only looked fabulous, but was very easy to do, and tasted absolutely fantastic. Lots of healthy, fun and delicious recipes for all the family to enjoy.I also used this book for my daughter's 1st birthday party, and everyone loved it! I already have Annabel's 'baby and toddler cook book' and the 'meal planner' and I had absolutely no doubt in my mind that Annabel Karmel's Complete Party Planner was the only one I wanted to use for my children's parties! Thanks Annabel! Looking forward to the next book!

I had this on my Amazon Wish List when I was pregnant with my son, who is now 18 months old. Along with Annabel's Top 100 Baby Purees it has been my bible since I started weaning him. The whole book is well laid out, easy to follow, packed with nutritional information and well illustrated. I have tried so many recipes from it that it would be hard to list them all... but my son particularly loves the fish pie, spaghetti bolognese and finger licking chicken balls! This really is a must buy for any mum, but particularly a new one who needs some good guidance.
