Food and Drink : Cooking for Babies and Toddlers: Nutritious, Delicious and Easy-to-Prepare Recipes to Give Your Child a Healthy Start in Life
As a nanny I first bought this book years ago to use with my first baby, whose later emerging allergies meant everything had to be cooked from scratch. This book was perfect then and it still is today. My book is now worn and well loved, needs replacing really, and I've recommended it to several friends for use with their own babies, and they swear by it too. All the information is helpful and the recipes delicious, for adults as well as children. Good value for money and easy meals to prepare.

I really like this book, it is constantly off the shelf, really well presented with full colour illustrations for every recipe and an at a glance guide for what you need for each one as well as some illustrated instructions. The carrot cake is fab, the bean burgers scrummy BUT don´t expect your toodler to suddenly start eating peppers and spinach etc just because author says they will! One of mine is eating broccoli now thanks to this book though! Worth every penny.

You know the story... what another cookbook... Then you ask yourself, 'do I really need another cook book?, well after reading through large sections of this book, YES... I think you do. Probably just like you we have got a large number of cook books at home, so what makes this so special and stand out from the rest.

Well, I have two young children and like so many parents I have this growing concern about the amount of junk food that is available and how it can affect the behaviour of our kids. There are fatty foods, additives, colourings and god knows what else in food today. The Food Bible contains lots and lots of information about these and other food and drink types (e.g. caffeine, canned food, etc), human diseases and disorders ... Read More:

Unlike an earlier reviewer we have found this book very useful [although I do concede that my son (4) is slightly unusual in that he loves vegetables and is quite an adventurous eater].

This is an incredibly middle-class and nutritionally correct book (I think that Jamie Oliver would approve!) and I found this a little wearing at times. However, the book is well structured and packed with interesting and useful suggestions.

If you are looking to spice up packed lunches and your child is reasonably adventurous with respect to food then this book is a gold mine.
