Lunches are always a problem here so when totz2teens sent me this book for reviewing I was over the moon. Some of it was common sense but I think I needed the book to give me the motivation to ensure I was 'doing it right;. It wasnt a book full of recipes but more of a book that gave simple ideas to encourage you to develop your childs nutritional intake each day. Interesting reading so thank you.

The recipes in this book are excellent with lots of lovely pictures for inspiration. Some of the food is a bit fiddly (vol-au-vent cats are a bit beyond my domestic goddess capabilities!) but most is refreshingly easy. Top method of getting vegetables down the little blighters are the "potato, carrot and courgett rostis" and "veggie burgers." My friend made the great gingerbread biscuits recipe as her little boy can't eat eggs and they were a huge hit. Highly recommended for even the stubbornest of toddler eaters and the most uninspired of chefs amongst us.

This is the best young children's book about medieval life i've read yet (and probably will read)- great story, lush illustrations and just masses of historical detail which a child takes in without thinking about it. Plenty of scope for discussion of the feudal system from the pictures alone! You will not be disappointed.
