Food and Drink : Lorraine Kelly's Baby and Toddler Eating Plan: Over 100 Healthy, Quick and Easy Recipes
This book is boring, the recipes are boring and unadventurous and the layout is boring. Luckily I did'nt pay for it, it was given to me. There are far more better baby recipe books out there.

While the author pays lip service to the importance of breastfeeding, this is really a formula feeding book:

- It gives no support whatsoever for the breast feeding mother, but minute advice about bottle feeding.

- The author makes very lightly of the risks of formula feeding.

- Several common misconceptions about breast feeding are reinforced, e.g. the myth that large babies need formula supplements and that many mothers have insufficient milk supplies. The phrase "pressures of modern life" offers a welcome excuse for women who cannot be bothered to commit themselves to what is REALLY the best nutrition for their child.

- The book assumes that at six months old a baby will have a full menu ... Read More:

'My Life in France' is a superb book that effuses with that wonderful endearing quality we have all come to know and love in Julia Child. The book focuses mainly on the early years of developing her first cookbooks and television show.

The book begins when she and her husband, Paul, make their first trip to France because of his new job assignment. You feel her giddy excitement upon landing on the shores of a place she had for so long desired to go. We hear in minute detail the look, smell and taste of her first French meal, and from there we are introduced to "La Belle France". Before I began the book, I wondered for how long I could sustain reading each night about a person's breakfast, lunch or dinner meal that had been eaten 50 ... Read More:

At first I thought this book was brilliant but actually it's got incorrect information in it which could be a danger to your child and I couldn't trust it!!

In the 4-7 month category it has recipes for oats and meat. If you're weaning your child before 6 months you should know that you cannot give meat to them and only gluten free oats, which it doesn't mention.

I wouldn't trust this book and will not be using it. Unfortunately I didn't get to look at it until it was too late to return.

I have had this book for over a year. It is dirty, creased and full of flour. It follows me around the kitchen every day. If you are contemplating following a gf/cf diet this book is a must. I am forever in its debt. It has given me the person I knew my son could be and his brother someone to look up to instead of avoiding. My son never wants to go back to the way he was. He is a completely different person now. The day I bought this book all our lives turned a corner and we have never looked back.

I've bought lots through Amazon over the years and this is the first time I've felt strongly enough to write a review. I've no complaints about the information in this book, but I found the tone and style so offputting that I stopped reading after a couple of chapters and have given it away. Basically it felt like the author was making a lot of assumptions about my views just because I'm pregnant and a vegetarian (for example by speaking about the joys of creating life without taking life (i.e. eating meat)) and it made the book very annoying to read.

I guess I like the 'rough guide to pregnancy' style, which is peer-to-peer, modern, informative and amusing - in contrast this title felt like I'd gone back in time with traditional black and white ... Read More:
