I was looking for a cake recipe that might turn out a bit like the gf muffins sold at costa coffee - I stumbled across this book in my local bookshop, bought it at full price, came home and started to cook with it. I have bought a copy for a friend who is dairy intolerant, and recommended it to my son who is a coeliac. Every recipe that I have tried has worked and been delicious! Try the Passioncake recipe - yummy!

I think this book is great. The recipes are really tasty although definately for those who like cooking and don't mind the preparation. I have lost half a stone in weight without trying (remember - this book doesn't sell itself as a 'lose weight' diet book) I have also got more energy and have stopped topping up with chocolate etc after my meals. Get it!!

I think this book is great. The recipes are really tasty although definately for those who like cooking and don't mind the preparation. I bought this book along with the Calorie, Carb and Fat Bible 2008 and this little book is the one I have used most. It is easy to use and I found it a lot simpler to understand. If you just want a quick reference guide to help you count calories through the day this is definitely the book I'd go for.

This isn't actually related to the book as I haven't read it. This is a great book but if you already own the (excellent)Boy George macrobiotic book beware because both books share the same recipes and in some cases pictures too. I think that Simon Brown's partner co-wrote the Boy George book with him and they both run a health food store in West London. This one has more info about the nutritional qualities of macro foods and is worth buying for that alone, however you don't need to own both books.

This is a very good book, which is clearly thoroughly researched and contains a lot of fascinating information. It gives you the science behind all the "magazine diet" info on fats. The book goes into the biochemistry, how fats are produced, history (including how the corrupt food giants misguided the public about certain fats and oils), fats in your food and how they affect your body or can lead to disorders. There are quite a lot of grammatical errors, but I was willing to overlook them because the information is presented in an easy to understand way. Having tried this diet I can honestly say I believe the people who lost weight did so because the food was so bland they gave up eating, (certainly lettuce soup was enough to put me off eating for life), and the diet is just not practical for anyone on a budget, I put all the ingredients into Tesco online for one week and the bill totaled over £60.00 and as every day is different I ended up storing randon things like half an avacado. The basic principles are sound, unprocessed food is far better for the body and everyone is better off eating fresh food than pre-packaged adative full rubbish, sadly the way in which the fresh food ...
