This is a sensible, clearly written recipe book, with lovely photographs and inspiring recipes. The approach is clean and direct, and the recipes are simple yet sophisticated. Indeed, this recipe book would appeal to all cooks, and not just those catering for a wheat-free diet. These are also genuine recipes, rather than the fudges you find in some of these books. Calories and fat are also clearly presented. This is a measured, sensible approach to the topic, and this book is great value.

I have bought and read numerous books about the Alexander Technique. Also had lessons at times I felt appropriate to an onging understanding and development. A great many of the books I bought have long since been discarded as the same problem occurs again and again. The presentation is either so SIMPLISTIC it is DIFFICULT to progress beyond a basic grasp of the technique or so dense and involved that it is hard to link together the various concepts and ideas ( I don't include Alexander's own books as they provide a primary source which at some stage should be patiently studied by everyone!). To get to the point, Alex Maunder's book is one I will never discard. Not only is the technique presented in a precise and logical manner it is also brought ... Read More:

This little book is packed full of delicious, authentic tasting recipes which are easy to follow and reproduce. My husband, who NEVER cooks, loves making the lemon & garlic chicken for the BBQ and my favourite are the meatballs with lemon, yoghurt sauce.
Mouthwatering soups, salads, dips, meat or veggie dishes, finished off with yum desserts all of which are light, healthy and full of fresh ingredients.
Although these books are published in Australia, the glossary in the back provides a clear explanation in the different terms (i.e Zucchini = Courgette).
I learnt to cook with the Australian Womens Weekly and thoroughly recommend any of their books.

I have had this book on my shelves for a couple of years now and unfortunately didnt look at it being more into the low fat way of eating. Ive been vegetarian for approx 20 years and have been putting on weight since a cholecystectomy 12 years ago. The key thing for this diet is that this book has enabled me to diet without feeling hungry - cravings are at a minimum. Weight loss wise the first couple of weeks I lost nearly a stone and loss has been around 2-3 lbs since then. While it requires some form of dedication from the dieter, the author has adapted low carb foods for the vegetarian/vegan diet amazingly well and with great creativity. This has helped me no end. I especially like the rice alternative and when you are needing a sweet treat the almond crunch ... Read More:

I thought that Eat Right 4 Your Type was one of the most helpful self-help health books I had ever read. Live Right for Your Type is much more valuable than that one. If you have read neither, read this one. If you have read and liked Eat Right 4 Your Type, you will find this book a great improvement on that one.

If your life seems strangely out of kilter and you and your doctors can't quite put your finger on what's wrong, I strongly urge you to read this book. It may well contain important clues for creating more "wellness" for you from the correct application of self-discipline in your eating and activities. The basic weakness of most scientific studies and almost all health books is that they look at average results for the whole population. The studies cited in this book ... Read More:

On the outset, this is a well-written, well-presented book, lots of photos, lots of tips and info, especially with regard to nutrition. However, before purchasing this book, I had no idea this author was Californian, and the fact is, this has a great bearing on the recipes themselves. Many of the ingredients are either just not available in Britain, or only available in the major cities, or are so expensive that it makes the meal only fit for special occasions. Also, many ingredients have travelled from far corners of the globe, thus contributing towards a heavier carbon footprint than I would like. So, for those who wish to tread lightly upon this world, I would recommend this book only to those living in warmer climes, where the produce is locally available. For Britons, I would look to ...
