I have purchased this book in preparation for the GF/CF diet for our 6 yr old with Aspergers. I have read and re-read the book and now feel knowledgeable enough to begin to implement the diet over the Easter holiday. Without reading the book I would have implemented the diet without preperation - possibly resulting in unnecessary upset. The book is informative, easy to follow and avoids technical jargon. The recipes are useful with helpful suggestions like how to make your own GF flour. The recipes are also very appealing to children. The book also raises other issues I would never have considered like the use of MSG's and Aspartmine. This has probably been the most valuable purchase I have made since receiving a diagnosis.

I began the Atkins diet using this carb counter as a guide but soon found that the values quoted were often higher than listed on the packaging of the actual food. In most cases, reading the product's packaging gives a lower net carb value (the things you are supposed to be counting), so you can actually eat more vegetables than the book suggests. So read the packaging and ignore this book. A good carb counter would be useful if the packaging is not available for the food you are eating e.g. if you are eating out, but this certainly isn't the one.

My boyfriend found this book and, to be frank, I was sceptical, but he really wanted to lose weight and I was happy to do the diet with him. We have stuck rigidly to the fat burning weeks and haven't felt hungry at all. Plus the recipes are delicious and varied enough to keep our interest (plus you can substitute carefully - I don't eat red meat, so I have fish from the fat burner list instead).
The stabiliser recipes have been harder to keep to and sometimes less practical (for example, eggs florentine for lunch at the office, or 3 different types of bread in a week when you only need 1 slice of each loaf). i'd read the book, i'd checked the nurtrition list given, but i wonder talking about juices therapy, i knew barley green is the best green food/ juices which i come across but why doctor didn't mention anything about it.Is alfafa better than barley green, i knew alfafa is acidic n barley green is alkali base. I can't say enough good things about this book. I was surprised by the comment about pasta dishes as only 1 out of the 10 chapters in this relates to pasta. For the tofu fans I would highly recommend the mushroom and tofu stroganoff which has a lovely strong rich flavor. There is a great variety in this book and I have yet to become bored of it, in fact when I recently moved house I was in a blind panic when I thought I'd lost it! There are a couple of recipes that will take you longer when you make them this first couple of times, but in general they live up to the promise of being easy to throw together in 30 mins. I often delve into this during the week after being at work all day and this is the only one of my recipe books I would dare to do this with. ... Read More:

This book was recommended to me by Pilates instructor as I wanted to learn more about Pilates and practice at home, by far the most in-depth book I have seen takes you right through from beginners level to advanced.

I've used this book for the past few months now, and i can't recommend it enough for anyone out there who, like me, hates dietary 'fads'; a new one seems to appear every other week, and most of them are either unworkable over the long term or unpalatable at any time.
If you want to lose weight fast, then you can choose to stick to Agatston's 3 phase method, of eliminating certain foods for short time periods then gradually reintroducing them, but not having the patience or interest, I tend to use his recipes to simply eat healthily on a day to day basis.
It's an American book with US terms and measurements, but this isn't a problem; if I can't get any ingredients, or don't like what he's suggested, it's very easy to substitute like for like. The recipes ... Read More:
