LOVE this cookbook!! Her meals are delicious! Sometimes they are complex, but after a few tries, you can learn how to be a true low-carb gourmet (as the title clearly states).

I was sadly dissapointed with this book. The designs are a bit basic. There are one or two designs that I might copy but that's all. Many of the cakes are finished in butter cream which is vey messy for children and I think the British are more likely to prefer an icing finish. This might be suitable for someone who's never made a cake before but I found it uninspiring.

To begin with - this book does get a 5 star review. It contains lots of lovely ideas and gorgeous pictures to inspire you. Each project contains step by step guidance and pictures. The idea behind the book is a good one; we can all strive to be that bit more ecologically friendly. It's probably a little on the simple side - but then I guess you could do some of the projects with children? There are chapters on 'Welcome', 'Christmas Tree', 'Giving', 'Table' and 'Food'. I do have some quibbles..... Some of the projects are - lets be very honest here - basic. This does make you think that maybe they are fillers? An example of what I see as a filler is: Christmas tree in a pot (yep - putting a christmas tree in a pot.....). Read More:

I have read this book from cover to cover, brilliant, what a delight Ian Garten is, not only to read her books but to watch her programmes, she is an inspiration. I have just ordered the last book and will have a complete set by tomorrow. I am as happy as when I am eating Orange Pound Cake!

I had heard of this book a few years back when my son was 2. For his 3rd birthday party, I made a whole host of scrumptious food from the book, which not only looked fabulous, but was very easy to do, and tasted absolutely fantastic. Lots of healthy, fun and delicious recipes for all the family to enjoy.I also used this book for my daughter's 1st birthday party, and everyone loved it! I already have Annabel's 'baby and toddler cook book' and the 'meal planner' and I had absolutely no doubt in my mind that Annabel Karmel's Complete Party Planner was the only one I wanted to use for my children's parties! Thanks Annabel! Looking forward to the next book!
